I reckon BG puts too much pcs(i think thats what u call them) into the game. I just read somewhere that there were twenty!! I mean sure its good to have a wide variety of classes to choose from but in the end you'll want only six elite, and they give u twenty!! I myself turn down every single offer to join (with the exeption of the first few and Yeslick the dwarf of course). Oh yeah if your reading this and haven;t read my still lost thingy then please tell me exact steps to get into the BG city.

2 things I thought about when I read your post:
1. NPC's who are "waiting" for you don't remain at level 1; they gain expierence by themselves, so that the later you meet them, the more advanced they wil be. There are some NPC's that you'd like to exchange for others who you met later in the game, because of their better stats. 2. You don't have to be of good alignment to play BG. I for instance like being evil, and it's nice to find evil npc's who will join your party. The same for neutral characters. Experimenting with npc's is just interesting; of course you have to take your time; if you wan't to play the game fast, you've got no time. I would like even more NPC's to be available ; there are not TOO much of them are they? For example: ever found a bard of good alignment? Or a pure evil thief? Or a neutral fighter? ...

Yes for question one, two three and all of them. I still think there are way too much. But i never knew they grew levels by themselves, thats a real eye opener...

The good thing with TOSC is that it provides a wide variety of race and class combos. there is a different type of chacter for every situation.

Oh, I think they could have, and should have created more NPCs in this game. The way I see it, the more variety there is, the more inclusive the game becomes for gamers (you and I) of all different types of personalities and backgrounds. I mean don't get me wrong, this game is already a masterpiece, and is what all other CRPGs measure themselves up to, but having more variety (IMO) would have only led to creating more replayability for the game.

Absolutely, couldn't agree more Sir Heinrich Godfrie IV. More choice is (generally) good, and there is still a depth of character combinations that haven't been explored.
Some people like playing theme parties, the sort of thing with all-spellcasters, or all thieves. This remains somewhat taxing, when you keep having to fiddle with Reputation values to keep party coherency. Having said that of course, not only is it likely and realistic that different characters have different world views and goals, also that it makes the game more interesting when you have to do something bad - but not too bad - to keep your evil guys around. I'd still like more choice though.

I think the thing that would have made the game better is if all the NPC'S had quests of there own like on SOA. I also would of liked a halfling fighter.
