Jaheira/Dermin question

After the dialogue about walking over graves, Dermin is supposed to appear for the first time. But no matter how many times I've reloaded it, it won't work. I've tried CLUAing him in, but he won't talk.

Does anyone know a way round this, either cheating or legitimate?

According to a walk-through I have, Dermin will spawn only if you are in an outdoors area or at the de'Arnise Keep. In addition, I've had the romance hang on me before when I'd be close to the edge of an area, Dermin would spawn but I wouldn't notice, and I'd leave the area before he could talk to me. Later, upon finding in the area, he would have "nothing to say to me".

Anyway, if you've tried going to an outdoor area and still no results, perhaps you could try using Shadowkeeper to reset that particular "love talk". It's number 39.

Managed to get it to work. CLUAed Dermin in, and then set the DerminAppear and DerminSpawn variables to 2 and he appeared and initiated the dialogue. This may be useful for anyone else who has the same problem.

Is Dermin the guy who talks to her and then at one time appears with a group of Harpers and you have to kill them?

If so, yes he does appear without romance but only after you do the Harper related quests correctly.
