I shudder to think what my multiplayer game will be like, if I ever muster up the courage to play one. I can only imagine the chaos if the players included me, SixOfSpades, and Illumina. The sheer probability of insanity boggles the mind.

First off, Six and I will probably be in b****-mode for more than 50% of the game, b****ing about everything and generally ranting over anything. Add an additional 25% if we have the Tactics Mod installed.

Illumina? Probably making wry comments drier than a corpse dead from an ADHW, with wit sharper than a Blade Barrier. Six and I will probably bicker over combat tactics too. He likes to whack, I like to cast.

Me: "Erm, Six? I'm going to cast Time Stop."
SixOfSpades: "Arggggh! And how many spells are you going to cast THIS time?"
Illumina: "Toilet break!"

Me: "Lower Resistances!"
SoS: "Breach! Memorise Breach!"
Ill: "How about Feeblemind for the both of you?"

Me: "Healing potions? I sold them, why?"
SoS: *froths at mouth*
Ill: "Yay!"

Obviously, as I went to Catholic school and thus simply choose to hold it. Interesting, though,; I'm not sure if that particular game would take one hour or one week to complete.

Oh, I like casting just fine--it's just that I tend to prefer a whole bunch of area-of-effect spells going off at the same time, all cast on my own Tank who has charged into melee, while you seem to actually tolerate the array of Wizard protections and counterspells. Me, I just go, "If Breach don't work, and we're out of Insect Plagues, we'll just run away and/or go Invisible until their damn spell protections wear off. And if we can't run, just Ring of the Ram 'em until they stop bothering us."

If there's one class that I favor, it's the Thief. In the Grand Ironworks Multiplayer, I'd be the Half-Elven Thief/Mage.

pity they did not make the game easier to have multiple players then. of course, one never knows what the players will demand until after they (the game players themselves) get the game in their hands and into the computer itself. it's the main reason I like the relatively easy way one can connect games with NeverWinter Nights. still, I do intend (someday soon) to install Baldur's Gate II onto my machine. would it be advisable (as long as I make the room on the hard drive) to reinstall Baldur's Gate I and use that Baldur's Gate Trilogy patch thingy? (though I don't understand why they call it a trilogy when there are only two parts...)

only if you want to play BG1 with the BG2 engine and interface - you get no benefits to your BG2 playing and with some versions of the mods you won't be able to play BG2 at all

if you want to try my suggestion would be

Full install of BG1+patches
Full install of SoA/ToB+patches

read about and download 'EasyTuTu'

I disagree. I think TuTu should be saved for later, but maybe that's just me. I actually prefer the BG I graphics. Well, the paper dolls anyway

Agreed the paper dolls were a bit cooler in BG1, but ever since i first played BG2 I just get upset going back to the low res, Tutu has breathed life back into the original for me , tho maybe if I was playing for the first time it might be different

My advice - first time through play it solo. There is a plot, with a few surprises that you need to experince. Once you know what is going to happen, then you might want to introduce some new elements. But don't worry about being lonely - the computer generated characters have more personaility than some suposedly real life players you meet online.
