I need to try to restore my corrupted savegame.
I'm using bg1tutu and my savegames in Beregost are dead, they won't load. I want to try to change the location of my party. Can you even do this in Shadowkeeper? Any help is most welcome. I don't have old saves (yeah, I know, I'm stupid...) |

you can do it using CLUA console commands, but don't know if that will work with Tutu.

Note the phrase "savegames won't load" and recall that CLUA console is an ingame interface.
I don't know what to tell you.. You can try fixing it in SK if you can figure out how to change the location (I myself have never attempted it, but there's a chance it's possible), but there's no guarantee that'd work. Why do you think the area is the problem?

The original BG editor, Gatekeeper, allowed you to edit the party's location, but its BG1 successor, Sword Coast Keeper does not (as far as I know), nor does Shadowkeeper, which is what you would be using with Tutu.
Possible solution: 1) Scour the net for a place that's still hosting Gatekeeper. 2) Download it. 3) Uninstall Tutu. 4) Play a new game of BG1 for a bit to make sure it works. 5) Gatekeeper your corrupted Savegame out of Beregost. 6) Play the edited Savegame for a bit to make sure it works. 7) Reinstall Tutu.

This probably won't help you with this savegame, but for future reference, this is from the Easytutu readme.

http://www.mud-master.com seems to be hosting gatekeeper, should you not find it.

Thanks for all the replies.
I actually found one way to circumvent the bug, though it wasn't pretty. I combined the retarded savegame folder with a baldur.sav file from an old savegame. This sort of screwed up the area thing so I could go back to areas I'd visited and they were fog-of-warred, plus I could get some items twice... but at least I could keep my party and experience level plus items, and now the savegame loads with no problem. I know this is a Beregost problem and that it's pretty common but at least I found a solution for desperate idiots like me who only keep two saves updated (quick - and autosave). Thanks again everyone ![]() |
