I think I might me going ga ga.. is the spear of withering counted as a drow item? I could swear I bought it for Jaheira, but I didn't have it when I got out of the underdark. There were just lots of piles of adamantine dust. I may have forgotten to buy it though (and I assume that if I head back into the underdark to try and purchase it again, then I'll be attacked by the shopkeeper?)

Oh, also.. is adamantine dust useful for anything?

The dust is useless, and yes you will most likely be attacked by nearly everyone if you venture into the underdark again.

{edit} if you want the spear shadowkeeper it in, and then shadowkeeper out the $$ you should have spent on it.

I guess I forgot it then?

I could edit it in.. but I don't trust myself to use mod things without messing up the game (I'm not very techy). Plus I can live with it, she'll just have to make d with the Staff of Rynn. Kind of fits with the Role-play. I think I panicked and legged it out without stopping when they said [Spoiler??]

I could be sealed into the underdark within a few minutes. Silly really, it seems most "time limits" don't matter much?

Shame the adamantine dust is totally worthless. I would have thought Cromwell might have had some use for it..

YOu could use the CLUA console, no mod need. Just by something you don't want and drop it if you really want not to cheat.

CLUAConsole:CreateItem("sper10")

It is not a "drow item" and will not disappear. Impaler is better anyway.

But it's a +4 weapon as opposed to Impaler's +3. My intention was to have both (she's got impaler already) and swap to the withering spear for the +4 when needed.

Poison counts as elemental damage and will ignore stoneskin wont it? If so, it is a considerably better weapon than the Impaler against spellcasters. Poison immunity being exceptionally rare makes it one of the best elemental damage weapons.

Exceptionally rare? All Undead alone are immuned to poison, and we all know how many of those there are in the game.

Electricity is the one that faces the least immunities IMHO( excluding Magic Damage).

I'm fond of acid damage myself. Fire is by far the worst elemental damage, but is one of the best ways to deal damage (fireball can be insta-cast pretty much with vecna, as well as target things off screen).

There aren't many creatures that are immune to +3 weapons. Only improved mantle, absolute Immunity, pfmw, and demiliches, I think. Maybe a few bosses in tob too. Demiliches are simple to take down as they have no hp. The poison has its uses, but I think it is dwarfed by the massive pierce damage from impaler. Ixil's spike is better than all of those of course (tob).

[/QUOTE]Ops, yes that's true. You wont find any undead casting stoneskins though, a few vampire mages excepted. Elemental damage really only matters against mages, against any other enemy you're better off with the Impaler anyway, and poison immunity is one of the immunities any kind of mage is least likely to have (since there's no protection spell against it). Liches aren't even resistant to poison, now how does that come seeing as how they count as undead?
