How do you like to use this guy?

Full plate and packing steel?

Maybe some light armor so he can get stealthy?

Two handed swords and stuff, or dual weilding?

I always prefered having him dulawield flails in full plate. Seems more like "minsc" to me

AFAIK, Minsc wearing fullplate doesn't affect his stealth. Unless you mean INCREASING his stealth with armour of the night.(i think, reward from umar hills is the one i mean)But a theif would be better at sneaking anyway, so you may aswell stick him in fullplate. As for weapons, a nice two-handed sword never hurt anyone. Lyracor (spelling ) etc, or duel wield him with maces, or any other one handed weapons he has profiencys in. (Yes, i can't spell)

I always outfit him with a nice full plate mail, coupled with a good Two Handed Sword (Only because I gave him the 'Sword of Chaos' in Irenicus' Dungeon and then just liked him with a Two Handed Sword). My personal favourite is Lilarcor for obvious reasons.

For me, I think the key to Minsc is flexibility. Two-handed sword in one slot, Composite Longbow in another, your choice of alternate weapon in the third. Unenchanted Full Plate swaps out with unenchanted Hide or Studded Leather when it's time to do scouting & sniping. I try not to give Minsc a Shield (although he does look bitchin' with the Shield of the Lost and Frostreaver) because his DEX and Saving Throws aren't quite as good as some of the others'. Dual-wielding comes later, when I've got enough Boots to go around, so I can be guaranteed of safety when I send my flank attackers in.

Minsc just doesn't ever seem like a ranger to me. He seems much more like a "full plate and packing steel" tank to me. Plate and Lilarcor seems to be best. Yes, dual wielding is pretty good as well. But it is really pretty good to keep Lilacor handy when you might be fighting someone who might cast a confusion or hold person spell at Minsc & Boo.

I usually put him in full plate, 2-handed sword in slot, bow in another, and a mace in the third. He seems to do great there!
