i've been looking for the hammer needed to make crom faeyr. i think i had it at one time but sold it not knowing its use. if anyone can tell me where to find it it'd be great. i was also curious to know where the pantaloons are, and if anyone knows i'd also like to know where the pantaloons in bg1 are. thanx to any who respond.

I believe the hammer of thunderbolts is found either on a Lich, or in a Lich's tomb....

I'm pretty sure the bronze pantaloons are in Beregost somewhere...although my memory isn't jogging as to exactly where.

I know for a fact that the silver pantaloons are in Amn. I can't remember exactly where.

That's not exactly correct.

the hammer of thunderbolts is in the illithid lair in the temple sewers, which is behind a locked door opened by a key from the windspear hills, for some strange reason.

even though i haven't played bg, i remember reading that the bronze pantaloons are in the friendly arm inn.

the silver pantaloons are the ransom for the noblewoman held up in the bridge district.

It is a secret door found in the symmetrical location of the door to the lair of the wizard who has Haer-Dalis. The northern part of the sewers in the Temple district, on the right side of the top wall. However, you won't be able to pick the wall's lock. The key can only be found on Tazok, a warrior inside the Winspear Hills dungeon. Fight your way to the end of the Illithid base, and in a pool of goo at the end is the Hammer of Thunderbolts +3. The Bronze pantaloons are on a noble on the second floor of the Friendly Arm Inn, first room on your left. Talk to him and he will assume you are a laundry maid, tell him you will take the laundry and voila, gold pantaloons. The Silver ones can be found if you do this quest:
1: Go to Graveyard district, find man buried alive (open grave in top-left area) and agree to find the man who did this, keep the red cloth he gives you.
2: Interrogate the graveyard owner, just north of your current location. He should tell you to go to the bridge district.
3: Duh, go there. Next to a house on the right side of the dock area, towards the bottom half, you should find a wizard dressed in bright red. Make him confess then follow him into a building nearby.
4: After killing the weak kidnappers, INSTEAD of freeing the noblewoman, go into the cupboard and find the ransom letter. DON'T FREE HER!
5: Go to the Copper Coronet (outside) at night and wait for a butler to come. He will pay you the ransom, silver pantaloons, then have guards attack you. I think you lose 2 reputation for this, not sure if you lose more for killing the guards.

Actually.. If I remember correctly... aren't the GOLDEN pantaloons in BG1? I'm pretty sure that is the case. The BRONZE Pantalets are found in TOB somewhere (not sure... ask question in TOB forum).

Bronze pantalets are found when in a dungeon of one of the other Bhaalspawns, after Abizagal(sp?) I think. You cast stone to flesh on a trio of statues and find 3 young adventurers. Send them to recover an eyestalk (or another item) and they bring it back along with the bronze pantalets.

Golden pantaloons are in the Friendly Arm Inn.

There are 3 parts. The third (and the last) part can be found somewhere in Throne of Bhaal. (SoA expansion)
Then you can build a very powerful item.
