Yes, he's not the most interesting of people...but he's nice enough and earns his keep ten-fold with his fighting skills. I find Aerie's personality more annoying, personally  Tanith.

However, Imoen will do perfectly fine for whatever thieving skills you need. If you come across a lock she can't open...well...what did you think Knock was for anyway?
Also, removing your only cleric (and only person that can cast restoration) isn't exactly smart. Having to leave Bodhi's lair in the middle of going through it because you have to go get someone restored will get annoying. Also, you WILL regret not having Sunray / False Dawn / Chant / Bless etc.
