Possible but very very unlikely. I did have to fight a couple of guards in the common room but didn't use any AoE spells. I don't remember them using any either, but it is possible. Still, that is something I'm sure I would have noticed, so I don't think that's what happened. So far, the possibility of losing rep for adding Aerie and Anomen and then kicking them right back out seems the most likely. That is something I wouldn't have paid any attention to.

Another slight possibility. My bard is Neutral Good, but he is also a Rogue. I have asked about the reward a couple of times, so that might have been what did it.

Nope, not a chance. I haven't met Jan yet.

Same, nor have I gained any from booting anyone.

Did you do the Renal quest yet? And did you happen to kill a certain beggar in one of the cages if you did with AoE spells? That's a major culprit for me.

No, I haven't done that one either (although I know what you mean about that beggar. He's cost me more than a couple of reloads in previous games).

The quests I've done so far are:

1. Cleared the Circus for Aerie.
2. Killed the Slavers in Coppor Coronet and Slavers HQ
3. Trademeet - Cleared Druid Grove, used CNTRL-Y on Improved Faldorn, killed Rakshasa sought by the Djinni's, and did the "Heirloom" quest once I returned to Trademeet as a Hero. I gave the "heirloom" back to Lady Luxxarol instead of the mayor (which was a departure from my roleplaying - my bard should have given the mantle to the mayor to keep the peace in town).

It was after Trademeet that I noticed my Rep was down to 8 (Disliked). And I honostly can't remember ANY battle that took place where innocents might have been caught in the crossfire - other than the Coppor Coronet. When I fought the Crypt Critters in Trademeet, I did run out of the tomb a few times, only to have the enemies follow me and continue to attack. A nearby mage guard came to my aid and was killed and it's possible other innocents were killed - but I went back and tried those games over. I eventually managed to kill ALL the enemies INSIDE the tomb, so I'm pretty sure that isn't it.

After Trademeet, I have done the following quests.

1. Bridge District Murders (gained 1 point of Rep when it was done).
2. Mekrath's Lair (returned his mirror in exchange for Haer'Dalis.
3. Astral Prison.

That's it. That is as far as I have gotten in the game. Currently, I have been commissioned by the Temple of Lathandar to check out the Unseeing Eye Cult and to seek a local artist to see if he will build a statue for glory of Lathandar rather than honoring one of the other temples in town. I also just entered the Gov't District again (to find the artist) and I may pick up Jan to do his quest also. I'm trying to get my solo thread updated with my current adventures, but I'm still way behind on that part.

I know that everyone's already said you killed a bystander, but I have an idea when. There's a mage at the south side of the docks (can't remember his name)who asks you to attack the Harpers right after you deliver the poisoned man to them. If you attack the mage instead, two or three civilians will turn hostile towards you. I had to turn off my parties' AI to keep from killing them. If you do, it's the same as if you killed an innocent.

WELCOME TO IRONWORKS, ROKC CADARN !!!

I haven't found the "poisoned man" or be approached by the Harper's (or their enemies) in any way yet. I suppose that is because I don't have Jaheira in the party.

So I haven't met the mage in the docks (BTW, he is a carry-over character from BGI. He and his partner are the very first NPC's you meet in the game).

I agree that the most likely explanation of my drop in popularity is due to an unexpected civilian casualty. I try very hard to avoid those and I don't remember any ocurring, but it's quite possible one slipped by without me noticing.

That's really the ONLY thing that fully explains the big drop in Rep so early in the game.
