Chapter Twenty-Six: Anomen's Fraternity Initiation

After the battle, we all headed to the Windspear Hills to hunt orcs for a while. During those three days, Jaheira had met with Dermin, her former teacher. After assaulting the poor girl with algebraic equations, she finally decided it was enough and left the Harpers! I assured Jaheira she would always have a place with us.

Minsc and Valygar left the party to go hunting for some deer. Aerie didn't want to stay so she went back to the forest. Thus, we headed straight to the Copper Coronet to pick up Anomen.

After leaving the bar with a drunken Anomen in tow (continually hitting on me...), a Knight of the Radiant Heart approached us. He informed us that the time of Anomen's Initiation into their fraternity had come. Without much else to do, we headed that way. First, we picked up Mazzy.

At the Most Noble Order of the Radiant Heart, they had Anomen strip down to his underclothes and clean the floors using only a small brush. Poor guy. As if that weren't enough, they made him bend over and every Frat brother and sister got to give him ten spankings with a large wooden paddle. The poor chap couldn't sit for an hour after that.

Finally, Anomen was to accompany Keldorn and I to get a Halberd from a rival Fraternity of former Radiant Heart members. Then that Frat wanted us to get some cup after we saved their butts from another rival Frat!

After getting the cup, the Frat Leader attacked us because he knew Anomen and Keldorn were still in their own Frat. Anomen had stolen the giant paddle and while Keldorn held him down they proceeded to spank the guy to death! After the battle, we returned to the frat and they knighted Anomen.

Nalia and Keldorn got in a fight about how discriminatory the Radiant Heart is, and Anomen apologized to his Frat Brother for their angry conversations before. All I got was some metal gloves of healing.

Chapter Twenty-Seven: Keldorn's Cheating Wife ans A Mansion Full Of Goodies!

After Anomen's Knighting, we went to Keldorn's house. All did not go well... turns out his wife is cheating. I suggested we confront the man she's cheating with, as likely he was rich and if Keldorn killed him we could loot him. I am a THIEF after all!

Instead, the guy knocks some common sense into Sir Keldorn. We take Keldorn back home and he takes his family to the circus. I... er... robbed his house after he left

We picked up Aerie, then dropped Mazzy for Minsc. At the Temple District, I coldn't resist a mansion, so I broke in to rob the place. Unfortunately, it was guarded. As luck would have it, by slavers, so I had no qualms killing them and robbing the place. All it took was haste and Insect Plague.

Chapter Twenty-Eight: Vampires, Vampires, VAMPIRES!

After selling the stuff we had "borrowed" from the Rune Slavers, we decided we'd head to an area described in a note. However, we first went drinking at the City Gates Tavern. I thought that maybe they had forgotten the whole Tiiro and Auluva incident by now.

As luck would have it, no. Though, the bartender had a job for us. There was a lich who had taken residence behind a painting in the wall. That room used to be the Black Lotus room but now the poor bartender couldn't go back there. I snuck in, got a lecture from the durned lich, and he attacked.

I quickly looted the chest in the corner, as the bartender had told me in there was a weapon he had once used in his adventuring days, and that it could help. Then I ran out as fast as I could!

As Nalia identified it, I set some traps real quick and the Lich walked out. As the traps set off, Nalia figured out how it worked and used the Daystar to cast a Sunray! That was one of the easiest battles ever.

Then, we rested and headed to the bridge district and that place entailed in the note. After disarming the trap in the door and picking the lock, all we saw was a void. As all of us peered closer, one of the Rogue stones in my backpack glowed, then disappeared!

I could feel myself being sucked into the void! After an unceremonial dumping onto a hard tile floor, I didn't quite trust this new place so I set some traps near the door. Just in case.

Aerie, Anomen, Nalia, and Jaheira cast some spells, and Jaheira "volunteered" to go forward into the next room. When someone is volunteered, it usually means they are pushed

Another Lich lectured Jaheira, then reappeared behind her! That's when my traps went off and I backstabbed the poor sod! Minsc used the Daystar's Power and the lich died.

And, unfortunately, Minsc was turned into a statue by the Beholder in the other room. Luckily he was far enough away for Nalia and Aerie to use a few charges in their Cloudkill Wands. Jaheira cast Insect Plague, and Anomen cast Protection from Undead on Jaheira as another vampire stormed out of the room.

It was funny hearing the stupid invisible mage in the other room try to cast spells and then lose concentration as the cloudkill mist hurt her! The Beholder's rays bounced off of Jaheira's new Shield of Balduran as she and I finished off the vampire. Then I drank a potion of invisibility and backstabbed the assassin trying to kill Jaheira. After he and the Beholder died, we heard the death rattle of the invisible mage. Aerie cast zone of sweet air, then used a scroll of Stone to Flesh on Minsc.

All in all, a hard battle, and we almost died. Aerie guessed that a Beholder's Eye in the cauldron would activate the machine in the next room to teleport us out. Thank Brandobaris for Aerie's brain!

After looting the place, we left and headed to the Adventurer's Mart. There, I sold the Staff of the Magi that the invisible mage had been carrying, and we all headed to the Keep to grab the Shadow Dragon Scales and the Red Dragon Scales. Anomen left the group after that, so we went and picked up Valygar.

Cromwell made some nice new armor for Jaheira and I. I got some Shadow Dragon Leather Armor and Jaheira got some Red Dragon Plate Armor.

Then Dermin came and ruined our celebration...

Chapter Twenty-Nine: Kangaxx and Dermin

As I said, Dermin came and ruined everything. He told Jaheira he'd have to kill her unless she went with him. She told him she'd think about it. When we awoke the next morning, a man named Terminsel gave us a note from her.

Jaheira had gone back to the Harper Hold, and didn't want her friends to follow. Luckily for us, we had camped next to the Harper Hold and could get there in time.

Some guards attacked as we entered, screaming about how uncool we all were. They were easy to kill. After killing them I set up some traps to keep others from followig. Upstairs, the party and I encountered our Harper friend.

Jaheira was more than happy to see us, calling me by her favorite new pet name for me, "Jerr you Magnificent Bastard!"

The guards weren't Harpers. In fact, Galvarey had planned on striking out his own cool clique and had only wanted Jaheira because others would follow her. Jaheira hated this new club and wanted to leave as soon as possible.

On our way down the stairs, I smiled with satisfaction as I heard my traps going off. Jaheira cast Insect Plague and we commenced beating up on the traitors!

After looting them, we headed to the abandoned house next to Mae'Var's now abandoned guild house. There, we killed some minotaurs and made ourselves some steak Down in the basement we met a golden skull named Kangaxx who offered us free ice cream if we'd go hunt down his skeleton. How could we refuse, free ice cream! The fellow told us where to find the two pieces.

Then we went to the slums to pick up Anomen. After that, off to the Keep to store some items, and then to the Adventurer's mart to buy some.

When we were done at the Mart, we went to the Bridge District to get the first set of bones. On the way to the house, we met Vitorrio, the man from the note we had found after Nalia had cast Limited Wish and wished for a grand adventure. He asked us to help him collect money for some gong lessons he gave.

"Gong lessons? Are ye serious?" I asked.

Anomen expressed his distaste for these small missions I'm always taking. I had a plan, though. Collect the money and then charge the man for the money

Unfortunately, it turns out he owes money, not this Captain Dennis. I agreed to finding Dennis's Gong in exchange for no fighting, and Anomen yet again expressed his distaste for these missions, mentioning that even this type of mission seemed beneath someone of my stature. Nobody makes fun of my height!

Anomen apologized two hours later and I had Aerie and Nalia polymorph him from a guinea pig back to his human self. Poor Boo was sad, though.

We went to the basement, battled an elemental shade, and then got a pair of golden legs. Then we headed to the sewers.

At the sewers, where Vitorrio had told us he had sold the gong to Roger the Fence, Roger said he had sold the gong. He told us he'd give us the information of who if we killed a Sea Troll for him. Well, after trapping the sea troll in a drain we decided to "convince" Roger to tell us after he raised the price to a thousand gold...

By convince we mean Minsc and Anomen holding the guy facedown above the drain where we had trapped the Sea Troll! Anomen fully apologized again, telling me that this quest was turning out to be fun after all. After soiling himself, Roger stammered the location of the person he sold the gong too. Another troll. This one the ex of the Sea Troll we had trapped (Who wanted to steal back the money for the gong to give as a make up present) .

We let Roger go. As he ran, though, he slipped on some muck and fell down the drain with the troll! I let out a sigh of annoyance, as I was planning on picking his pockets before we left.

We headed to the other location in the sewers that Kangaxx had mentioned. That Elemental Lich was harder to defeat. Then we all headed to the area where a secret door was locked. Luckily, the key we got from the Windspear Hills fit perfectly.

When we entered, the group got hit with a psionic force. I hate psionics used against me

We entered the lair, and Minsc and I scouted ahead as we all agreed the place didn't feel right. How right we were, a Mind Flayer and some controlled humans. Minsc and I headed back to the party and I set up some traps. Then I tried to backstab the Mind Flayer and it must have spotted me! I quickly ran out as fast as I could, the MF and it's "friends" following me. My traps took out three of them, but the rest were following.

That's when my friends started bashing and hacking away as I passed by, taking out the little army! The Mind Flayer made a nice splat sound as Aeire smashed it's head in from behind with her mace.

Scouting out further, there was a room full of mind flayers So we rested, I set more traps, and then I went in and backstabbed one. As I ran out, my traps took down quite a few who followed. Then, again the party took out the rest after Anomen or Aerie cast remove paralysis on us.

More scouting ahead, and yet more Mind Flayers. However, one named Alhoon made the idiotic mistake of taking a walk. I backstabbed him and then Minsc used the Horn of Valhalla, and Aerie used the Spider Figurine. Both summons finished off Alhoon. The rest of the beholders were not so easy.

The summoned allies went after them right away and were decimated. Nalia used 3 wand of cloudkill charges on them and they still didn't die! So I set some traps as Minsc distracted the Flayers showing them the special victory dance he does after butt-kicking for justice.

The Mind Flayers hated it, and ran after him. Most of them died by my traps. The last two were backstabbed by Nalia and I. Aerie now has a nifty Hammer of Thunderbolts. We sold the Wand of Wonder for 12000 gold.

Next on the agenda was to go meet the troll who bought Dennis's Gong. First we stopped at Watcher's Keep and I bought The Sword of Mask. When we got to the Druid's Grove, we made camp.

In the morning Jaheira saw Dermin approaching and had some words with him. A battle ensued when he told her she wouldn't know cool if it bit her in the backside! After the short battle, she felt a little guilty, so I cheered her up by showing her Anomen's collection of Drizzt love letters he wanted to send! Told you he liked men.

We met the troll, but she wasn't willing to give up the gong. That was until we told her about what her ex tried to do. She thought it was so sweet of him that she went off right away! First, she told us she had traded the gong.

We met the ogre she traded the gong to, and he gave us the gong in exchange for a wand of frost. He told us he was using it to shovel cow dung. The thing smells rank of dung!

Dennis gave us a nice dagger in exchange for the smelly gong.

Then we headed to Kangaxx's place and gave him his bones. The guy lied to us! He had no ice cream! You do NOT lie to a halfling about ice cream!

After an insult involving "what I did with his mother", the lich attacked us! That battle wasn't an easy one. Then, Kangaxx goes demi-lich!

Aerie and Nalia told us to leave, they'd take care of him. The rest of us were all too happy to comply. I handed Nalia my Sword of Mask and both her and Aerie cast Spell Immunity: Abjuration on themselves. Guess those books I stole for them on Demi-Liches did come in handy after all!

Aerie beat up Kangaxx with the Staff of Rynn, and Nalia used my sword to stab. The battle took and hour, and another Spell Immunity casting, but they won! They felt sorry that I didn't get any ice cream, though, so they gave me Kangaxx's Ring.

Before I start, I have a few questions pertaining to the Solaufein Mod.

Last time I played the Mod, I couldn't seem to pick the options not to have the fights that I like to refer to as "Reload 50 Times and End Up Cheating Because They're Over-Powered" Fights. Hopefully, it being a year later, the version of the Mod will now allow me to choose. Ok that goes without saying.

What I really meant to ask was is it still forced on you to have to fight an over-powered version of Sola as a Lich when he's abducted by Bodhi? Cause if it's optional, then I'll download the Sola Mod. If it's not... well I'll still download it as I've got limited options for a gay romance mod and Sola, as far as I know, is the only closest option. I'll just have to cheat if I hope to get past that part, despite the fact that I'd rather not.

Also, if there is another gay romance mod out there can anyone point me to it? Not that I dislike Sola (Especially since he'll be an easy target to play around with in this story), I like the dark elf, but if there's another one out there that I won't possibly have to cheat just to keep sane, I'll take it.

Finally, if you haven't read the Watcher's Keep thread I am moving so this will be postponed for a while.

Chapter Thirty: 15000 Gold Lighter

After completing our tasks at Watcher's Keep, I dropped Anomen and Nalia off at my Keep to keep Viconia company.

Also, I just love watching Viconia squirm when I make her hang out with people she doesn't like !

Then we went to pick up Yoshimo and buy some items. We had about 90000 gold. We spent half of that on items at the Adventurer's Mart.

After that we went to pay Gaelen Bayle the money. He gave us a key to a secret passage at the Shadow Thieve's Guild where we were to meet Aran Linvail.

While there, we searched around the place and Yoshimo has a nice new Ring of Lockpicking. I also stole some coats while Missy, the coat check girl, wasn't looking

Watch them like a hawk she says!

Anyway, Aran was an ok guy. Gave us some nice new items. Then sent us on a mission. We were to pick up a special shipment at the docks from a person named Mook. What this special shipment was, we knew not.

We met Mook, a nice girl. Kept asking for my autograph, as she had heard tales of my robberies in Baldur's Gate. Afterwards, some guy comes along screaming at poor Mook about leaving him hanging at the tavern! The he kills her!

So we attacked him! She was nice. But he ran away

Taking the opportunity, we checked what the special shipment was. Looks like Aran has a thing for Party Dresses, because that's all we found. Mental Note: Blackmail Aran Linvail in the future.

After reporting Mook's death, we went on another mission to oust some traitors.

At the Five Flagons Inn, we picked up Haer'Dalis, and he and I went upstairs to pretend to be looking for the same contact. I had a lot of fun accusing the thieves of being spies!

I loved the looks on their faces when I chanted, "Ye don't know the n-aame! Ye don't know the n-aame!"

Of course, my antics got us attacked.

After killing them the Contact walked in. He told us what we needed to know, but Haer'Dalis spilled everything when he commented how Aran would appreciate the info! The contact was harder to kill.

We dumped Haer'Dalis after that.

Yes, you can skip all the battles I think. Certainly the eclipse encounter anyway, and I'm fairly sure the other one too. The readme has details - probably best to check that because the dialogue is not completely obvious - you have to tell him his dreams don't mean anything IIRC.

Undead Sola still is there - the only way to avoid would be to drop him from your party temporarily before you reach the graveyard district. He is beatable though, but it'll take you a while...
