Six, if they drain you enough, you'll get encumbered, which will be nearly worse than getting stunned. If you get encumbered, the only way out is to start dropping stuff. If you're a warrior and have on full plate mail or something else that's heavy, then you won't be able to drop it since you'll be in combat. It'll be the same as getting stunned, except that you have no chance of recovering in this one.

The Wand of Polymorph does work. It's kinda embarassing really, but Imoen was using one of my custom scripts and due to a coding error... used the wand on herself... ...

She did not turn into a squirrel due to her belt, but she got the paws.

In another incident, Imoen casted the wand on a SThief and turned him into a squirrel. As can be expected, we kicked his a$$ after that.

The Range is rather short though, but it is not touch range, more like 5' range.

SixOfSpades, which person got 45 proficiencies again? I can double check for you in NI. Be sure to give me the specific name.

ADD] Before I forget, the reason why you tend to save vs the Wand of Polymorphing is quite simple. The average Save vs Polymorph of your party at that stage in the game is 10-11.

That means you only have a 50-55% chance to fail.

A saving throw of 10 or 11 is quite high, and 50-55% chance of failing your saving throw is a lot, too.
I've managed to get the wand work on a demon knight before . He gave a hell of a fight as a Demon Squirrel .

Ohhhh... trust me on this one. A 50-55% chance to fail means you are relatively safe. When you look at the bigger picture.

My assassin is still under the SoA XP cap and his worst saving throw is like, 6 or 7 I think. 11 seems like a number from early BG2 or late bg1...

The big picture.

Try getting 6-7 in Jon Irenicus Dungeon on your whole party.

I finally get what you mean now . I thought you had slapped on the belt for testing or something . Didn't realize you meant you were still in te the Chateau. Maybe I need some sleep to clear my mind a tad bit

My problem doesn't lie with the fact that you are that extremely harsh, it does for a bit, but you're bitching their creations for inconsistency, without having contributed to them. In other words: it's always easy to critisize someone else's work afterwards. And I admit that you give your own solutions, but nevertheless I feel it's too easy to do such a thing.

I'm as sure of this as I was of the Wand of Fear. That thing does not work, at least not in the hands of the thieves. I've never used the wand myself, so can't comment about that, but I've had it used against me more than a hundred times since I installed Tactics, with all sorts of different characters, all with equally lousy saves, and a thief has never managed to polymorph me with that wand. I'd be more likely to score a natural 20 thirty times in a row than I'd be to simply have made my save all those hundreds of times.

By the way Six, Wands of Frost are the easiest to avoid. If you make a habit of standing back a few feet each time you expect him to use his wand, you can easily dodge the cone by simply walking straight away from it.
