"Side note. It is the Barbarian's Enrage, and not the Berserker's Rage that confers Level Drain Protection. "

Doh. My mistake. That's the one I meant.

Protection from magic weapons+Alot more protections,I rather fight vs a lich whit no protection spells whit offensiv spells,Than a lich whit no offensiv spells whit protection spells.A Lich is easy whit no protection spells not so good ac and pore life.

Due to a still-uncorrected bug (at least in my game) an Enraged Berserker is immune to Level Drain as well. You'll see the "Two Levels Drained" in the text window, but a peek at his Record screen shows him to be just fine.

Not easier, faster
The protection spells go away as well if you just wait long enough (and play the in-out game meanwhile to drain his offensive spells). After he has lost his offensive spells he can do almost no harm.
PfMW or Mantle doesn't last too long anyway and is probably gone already when you attack and stoneskins just need to be peeled off. The in-and-out cheese mainly is for low level parties who can't kill/hit/stop a lich before he unleashes Wail of Banshee/Time Stop/AdHW/Symbol Death or any other nasty spell.
90% of all lich encounters can be handled by blatantly cheesy but from a role play perspective, makes a certain amount of sense...a immediate attack with azuredge, either upgraded or not (item upgrade)...an immediate attack with a ranged undead disrupting weapon as soon as you see a lich has a pretty good chance of a cheap kill...and a smart, savvy party would naturally attack with a ranged undead blasting weapon BEFORE it has time to put up its physical protections...90% of the time, the lich puts up magical protections before casting physical protections, like pfmw...so a fast attack with someone with good axe skills, like minsc can usually put it down right away.

(this works for tactics mod too...)
Thats true but I've usually been able to turn one or two of them using Aerie, if you can keep them off her long enough, they return later but you should have been able to concentrate on the leader long enough to take her out. Every little bit helps. Any way it works for me.

Re: Lich hunting

If you have a character with the boots of speed, and the mace of distruption, send him (or her) on a blitz attack on the Lich. At a -4 save or be utterly destroyed, you have a pretty good chance of blasting the Lich right out of un-existance before it can complete its first spell. Worked for me.

Ah yes, the mace of disruption. Indeed a handy weapon for dispatching skeletons to liches.

Oh and...

Thanks for the welcome. Seems like an interesting cabal of characters you have wandering around here...
