Its not a bad game, It gets beter the second time around IMO and the expansion pack really rocks acording to everyone. The multi player aspect and Zirocs mod are supposed to be excellant but not with my internet conection.

Have you tried IWD or BG1 using the BG2 engine?
I've never heard of running IWD or BG1 with the bg2 engine. How does one go about doing so?

BG1Tutu is the best place to start. The webpage is here: http://japh.fwstudios.net/bg1tutu/

and the associated forums are here: http://forums.fwstudios.net/index.php?showforum=97

I wouldnt say THE crappiest ever...it does have its few nice things(though i could count them with my left hand fingers). the thing to keep in mind is NOT to compare it to BG2. Doing that will ruin almost any CRPG gaming expirience(excluding maybe Planescape and BG1). Anywho, it might be worth the buy, if for nothing else, than for the expansion(s) which are supposed to be very good(atleast a whole lot better)...the upcoming Hordes of the Underdark might be interesting...

[/QUOTE]i havent heard of the IWD thing, but I think Wellard was referring to BGTutu or BGTrilogy...also, after the beta testing is complete, Weimer and Co. will release Icewind Gate, which is BG2 converted to 3rd edition rules...(BG2 with IWD2 rules)

The icewindale thing would be spine of the world. I believe it was made by the same team that made Tortured Souls, and Hlidskalf (sp?) later converted it to weidu format. If I'm not mistaken the spine of the world allows you to play IWD on the BG2 engine, I don't know what the differences in the egines are as I have never played IWD. If you want to download it there is a link to all of Hild's refurbished mods in the sticky thread "Comprehensive BG2 Mod list", or there might be information over at www.teambg.com , but I'm not 100% sure.

well....my oppinion of Nwn is that the plot was about as good as dungeon seige (in DS there wasn't one, at least not a noticable one) the gameplay could be compaired to bashing your head against a wall....boring painful (until u go numb) and repetative...at least the mutliplayers good...but wait to use any of the servers you have to shell out an EXTRA £20 for the expanson...and to add insult to injury there bringing out ANOTHER ONE!!!

basically...i'd rather cut myself and rub lemons in it then play Nwn.....biggest waste of £30 i ever made.....
