I remember reading somewhere that, if you finish BGII without having ToB or a cap remover installed, you will get the accumulated (above-cap) experience at the start of ToB. I have just installed, patched and started ToB - but no experience! Should I just kiss all of my Chapter 7 experience bye-bye, or is that a bug?

Thanks for any insights.

It should tell u in the TOB manual how much u get. But do u mean you have finished SOA and now are moving on to TOB. If u are then Im afraid u only get the xp u had when u finished SOA which im guessing is the xp cap right? So the answer to your question i think is no.

Thanks. I actually re-fought the final battle after installing ToB, because I understand that you miss out on certain bonuses (from the eyes) if you just import your last save. I don't think I got any experience from that last battle either. I then moved on to ToB with 2,995,000 (or whatever the cap amount is). I'll check the ToB manual (which is hopefully on the cd-rom because there was no printed version).

Aargh! The manual says nothing! Anybody know why this is happening? Where did my experience go? I worked hard for it.

The SoA Cap is 2,950,000. If you had 2,995,000 , then you have been getting your excess XP in SoA.

My mistake. I meant to say 2,950,000 but didn't have the number off the top of my head. I stopped gaining (or at least showing) experience at the beginning of chapter 7 and didn't get any accumulated experience in chapter 8. I was pretty sure that someone had written in one of the threads that I'd get my accumulated experience at the beginning of chapter 8.

Thanks all the same.

I'm looking forward to the eight mil. I briefly grieved for the exp which I lost between the time when I maxed out in SoA and when I installed and started ToB, but I'll probably make up that lost exp quickly.

100 to 200 thousand points lost doesnt even feel anywhere, with the MASSIVE exp ahead in ToB
