I hate to ask this question since I'm sure it's been brought up before, but can you dual a human sorceror to another class? This dual button isn't hi-lighted for some reason. I did a search and came up with no results, and the forum guidelines didn't say anything about dualing a sorceror. I've been searching for my game manual and can't find that either to check this info, so any help would be appreciated.

No, sorcerors cannot dual class. Only class combinations that are valid multiclass combinations are allowed to be dual classed.

Thatīs not absolutly right.

Its possible if mage is the second class.

At the beginning of SoA my BG1-Thief (12) became Mage. Now in Level 13 is able to use all abilities again. Goodbye Yoshimo !

? You seem to be mixing up Mages and Sorcerers. They are two different classes. Sorcerers are not valid for Dualclassing of any kind.

I'm pretty sure you meant that you had forgotten that the Sorceror is NOT a Mage kit.

Isnīt he ? I thought that the sorcerer is specialiced in one school of spells.
Isnīt that called a mage-kit ?
I was playing AD&D for about 10 years, but I canīt remember te difference exactly.

I prefer none-specialiced mage, because they can learn every spell available.

If a valid multiclass like fighter/mage exists that means that the dual class is also possible with every possible kit of the first class (with special exceptions like the obviously forbidden Wizard Slayer/Mage). So there is the possible Berserker/Mage as well as the legal Necromancer/Fighter (Necromancer must be the first class).
Specialist Mages can dual-class just like normal Mages can but Sorcerers cannot because they are not a mage kit but a completely different class.
Sorcerers in BG2 are completely different from specialist mages.
They cannot copy spells to their mage book from scrolls but choose spells with each level up (so their spell selection is rather limited). However they do not need to memorize spells but have all of their spells available after resting with only a maximum for each level.
Example:
Your sorcerer knows the following lvl 1 spells: Magic Missile, Grease, Armor, Chromatic Orb and has 4 spell slots on lvl1
After resting he is able to cast:
4 Magic Missiles
OR
4 Chromatic Orbs
OR
4 Grease
OR
4 Armors
OR
2 Magic Missiles and 2 Grease
OR
1 Magic Missile, 1 Armor, 1 Grease and 1 Chromatic Orb
OR
1 Grease and 3 Chromatic Orbs
OR
1 Armor and 2 Grease and 1 Chromatic Orb
...

So he can cast 4 lvl 1 spells and choose from every spell he knows (which he picks on lvl up).

why don't you start a new SoA game and choose to create a sorcerer and see what kind of spells the game let sorcerer to have?

Just a minor correction, Faceman. The Wizard Slayer->Mage is a valid combination. Refer to the Dualclassing table in the FAQ for all valid combinations for Dualclassing.

WS->Mages are fun to roleplay. Especially if you make the alignment Chaotic Neutral.

Think Split Personality.
