Doing the planar sphere quest with my fighter/theif/mage and have just comne across the cowled wizards downstairs.....

They keep killing me! I can't beat them! I am roughly level 10/10/10.
If I cast remove magic on them they just replace their spell protections!

Help!

Ouch...

Hmm. Do you have Wand Of Cloudkill? If so use it. IMHO you are a little too low level. Try to summon some beasties use Breach,Stoneskin,Hide in Shadows...

Seems you have the Smarter Mages component installed. With it, the fight is a rather tough one, but not for a human brain

Got any invis potions?? Can you cast Sunfire??

In fact, if you can cast Sunfire, all the fight is nothing more than a cakewalk. Their spell prots do not block it. So, here is the things to do:

1. Come up to them cloacked in shadows/invis.
2. Cast Sunfire and hope they die (at least the apprentice has to die)
3. Hide in shadows/go invis and repeat.

This tactics worked with my Blade. My assassin simply didn't survive till there, and as it was a SNR game... Rest In Peace, Kir'Ran!!!

Maybe launch a fireball or two from out of their sight??

The general tactics is this: see what are they protected from, gather the list of all the possible tactics you can apply and then use them one by one, until one works.

And you are definitely too low in level for this quest... Tolgerias is nothing as compared to the hmm... beasties you're about to meet if you are ever to exit the sphere

Got a savegame before entering the Sphere?

Well, assuming you want to roleplay and don't want to use any cheesy tactics...

Your thief obviously scouted ahead (casting Improved Invisibility on himself!) He saw some fancy mage (called Tolgerias) who immediately began casting True Sight, so the mage-part thought: "That dude needs to be dominated!", so he casted domination on the mage, and made him use all sorts of horrible spells on his apprentice!

Good luck!

Won't the casting of domination reveal the player's presence to the apprentice? It can be devastating...

And remoe their protections and pause, then balst 'em.
they're gonna run out in the end..

I hadn't thought too much about trial and error like this.....Thanks...

I know I'm too low level! I was trying to up my levels before doing the 5 flagons quest.

Unfortunately don't have a save for before then. Is the next fight gonna be next to impossible then?

Good experience for my next try at BGII:SOA!

Thanks for your help....
