A little help please?

I was hoping someone might be able to help me get unstuck on the Cult of the Eyeless quest. I've got the first part of the rod and have talked to Sassar who told me to go find Tad who will help me get into the pit. I've searched and searched but can't find Tad. I'm a Ranger so I'd like to finish this quest.

Questions:
- Where exactly is Tad supposed to be?
- Is Tad labeled Tad or does he show up as an elite guard (I think I talked to them all, but I may have missed one.) Again, if I knew exactly where he is supposed to be, I might be able to find him.
- One theory is that I may have killed him already. I snuffed a guard or two when I first got to the entrance of the big round room.
- If I did kill him, Is there any way to proceed? From other posts I tried opening the console and entering CLUAConsole:CreateCreature("CTRAITOR") which was accepted, but still no Tad. [ ("TAD") does not exist ]
- If I can't find or recreate Tad, is there any other way to get down into the pit? Game-wise or console-wise?

Anyway, I'd hate to walk away from this quest. My last previous save is days ago.

Hint:you know where Gaal was standing on the beggining of the quest? Go a little further and left and then look for Tad.

if i remember correctly he's not labelled as a name but he is by 'the pit of the faithless' (i think your journal refers to this) and

In the Cult Domain (the big circular room), there's an entrance to another circular smaller room. In this room, the entrance to the lower pits is located, and when you take your cursor over the huge hole, it turns to the ikon with the two arrows (best explanation I can give as I don't recall what it says when you click the hole). Outside this room, Tad should be standing.
Now, if you've accidently killed him, he should spawn in after using the CLUA-command you mentioned. If he still doesn't show up, you can try t get into the area using:
CLUAConsole:MoveToArea"AR0201")
I doubt that would work, though, as your journal updates after speaking with Tad. It should work if you combine it with the right GLOBAL-command, but I don't have the resources to dig that up right here.
You can also spawn the entire rod into your inventory using another CLUA-code, but you still wouldn't get the XP incuded in the pits. If you still want to use that option:
CLUAConsole:CreateItem("MISC5Z")

That's where I thought he'd be but he ain't there, he won't spawn and the small pit has no arrows or anything. Maybe I'm not doing the spawn right. Is it instantaneous or do I have to reload or do something else?

I'll try the movetoarea approach next. Quick question, what is the purpose of the global command you mentioned, if you could point me in the right direction maybe I could figure that out. Also, if all else fails and I spawn the rod, are there any other special items that I would find in the pit? I think someone mentioned gauntlets of dexterity. Anyway, if there are any onetime items down there I'd like to not miss them.

hmm - i've never seen this or heard of it

have you installed the oficial patch and baldurdash?

have you tried reloading from a saved game? ADD: oops, didn't catch that in your original post

OK, after the patches I was able to spawn Tad. He would spawn and then disappear after one second (weird, but at this point I don't care why this is happening), but I was able to pause and talk to him before he vanished.
