![]() Add new network hardware, 2Gb up to 10Gb locally. pricey, but 10Gb in a few years will be standard or close to it. |

Yeah, I think its the Hard Drive going bad. It has a few bad blocks--I 'roped them off' but I'm making a clone of the drive in a week. Also getting a whole new mini PC for the server No need for a full tower ![]() The new PC will have like 2000% speed increase. (Current Server has lived a long great life, but time to get it updated). I think it crashed IIS due to either limited memory or as I said, a bad sector(s). New PC will have the new SATA or NVME drive 32 gig ram (I currently am stuck with 2 GB, because the motherboards other 2 ram slots stopped working a while back). so yeah, Ram is SUPER important to databases. Another possible reason IIS turns off. Cheap video card--its a server. ![]() 2 or 10Gb ethernet card --for future proofing--to a point.... Small mid or smaller case. And of course new Motherboard and CPU. (Something powerful) but nothing likea gaming system--it'll still be a crazy massive speed upgrade. Ram, as I said 32GB, and DDR5. Shouldn't cost too much. Just got a new Netgear Router (the 10Gbps one) and a 5090 OC (Asus Astral 32GB ram)... mainly for work--3D modeling and some gaming when I stream. If you have any ideas on hardware I should get, let me know!! And once Ironworks is super stable again, I will feel the extreme need to update this forum, and I can't wait for that feeling, guys!!! I'll keep you up to day on the work on it!! Some forums topics will be turned off/not deleted -- like Dungeon Siege etc... Forum groups that have not had posts in years.... maybe I'll just move them to the bottom instead of turning dead sub-forums off. What do you think? BTW, I'll be including more Youtube videos by me for games-- like a visual tips and tricks etc... More soon!! Dan |
