Has anyone ever experienced this problem, wherein you remove a party member and then you are unable to locate them to ask them to rejoin?
A little extra context: Started playing as a kensai/mage (yeah, yeah) and I reached level 9 kensai right after finishing de'Arnise Hold. I came back to the first floor once it's a Stronghold so the NPC's are there and I decide to drop everyone to get more experience from spell scribing, I told Nalia and Minsc to 'wait here' until I return except that once I do come back, Minsc is no where to be found! I didn't see him in the Copper Coronet either, so I'm at a loss as to where he might be! If anyone has a solution for finding my lost furry little friend that would be great! The game isn't the same without him and Lilarcor interjecting every few minutes |

What mod's are you running? Look into that.
If you are not running mods then it is possible that the NPC is gone forever. If a party member is dissatisfied with your reputation (was Minsc complaining?) then he won't be recruitable again IIRC. There are also some buggy mods that cause this. I did a run with BG2 UB (unfinished business) Mod installed and using the "Kidnapping of Boo" component. Even though I had rescued Boo, Minsc never realized it; and when I dismissed Minsc to pick up Keldorn he became angry that I was abandoning Boo!! So when he left I did not get the "stay here or go to the Copper Coronet" dialog. I just roleplayed the loss... Keldorn is a MORE than adequate replacement. Also, there is mod component that moves Boo into Minsc's backpack so you free up a quick item slot. This mod also can cause unpredictable Minsc behaviour. So, you can roleplay the loss, or go back to a save with Minsc still in the party. CLUAing him in won't work as the CLUAed character will be lost when you change maps.

As far as I know, the only mods that I have are to add the two merchants from the Collector's edition discs. In my google searches someone mentioned that you can use one of the save editors to look at characters recruited but not in party, so maybe I'll try that. If not, I guess I'll just go and get Keldorn. I just thought it'd be easier to get admitted to Spellhold if you can refer to Minsc and his miniature giant space hamster

As Spellhold is a vital part of the game you will be admitted come what may.
Shadowkeeper may shed some light on what has happened here. If you are technically minded you may be able to use the iesdp notes to decrypt the relevant part of your save game files. |
