Just saw that! holy cow.... that's nuts!
The insurance adjusters are busy eh? That one guy saving his landrover was crazy, but I'd probably attempt that too.. ![]() 20,000 homes flooded too.. The weather all over the planet is really odd lately.. New York and the areas around it are about to be hit with another blizzard too.. (East coast too) Crazy stuff.. |

Worst is yet to come for Brisbane (our Major city in QLD) with the Brisbane river set to break banks and hit record highs overnight.

It is scary. Fortunately my house is safe although I have come home early from work both today and yesterday due to fears of not being able to get through with roads being closed. The rain has stopped now though which has helped but the river is still going to peak tomorrow with the high tides so more homes will go under. Brisbane has been luckier though than Toowoomba as we have had days of warning - Toowoomba's flood was totally unexpected. I think the death toll is at 12 now with 60-something still unaccounted for. One of the most upsetting deaths was a 4 year old boy who fell off a rescue boat this morning.

Luckily my father managed to get out when he could, unfortunately most of the major roads are blocked off around the state though now which is making it hard for other people to get away.
Two of our major offices were evacuated a few days ago, it's hard to imagine what it must be like for some of these people, but hopefully some of these photo's will do the explaining: ![]() ![]() ![]() The saddest would have to be this one, from what I saw, the 7 News chopper saw this car with a full family inside trapped, so they went and found a rescue officer, but when they returned, the car was gone ![]() ![]() But here's one to cheer you up: ![]() |

75% of the entire state of Queensland has been declared a natural disaster! Could be as bad as the 1974 events..

I don't want to turn this into "flood off" but this happened in a nice picturesque tow in Cornwall
Months of rain in Colombia have killed over 300 people and in Brazil nearly 400 have died in floods this week. Seriously scary weather at the moment. |

Glad to see you are ok Aelia Jusa
![]() Hope Dragon Shadow in Rockhampton is ok too. 15 dead so far and I guess a lot more bad news to come. Brazil has been devastated too with about 500 dead. Ziroc is right about the weather being really odd lately all over the world.
