Default World's Edge has moved...

Anyway, XTHost (my original server for my webpage) has been saying that they will be down by the end of September... it is October now, and it is still up, but I have still prepared a new webpage at a different host (same company, though), just in case...

Anyway, my new site is still under construction, but I am not quite sure what route to take it at this point, so here it is:

http://dhost.info/uatu

(I think you could have guessed the URL )

Some new graphics are available there as well, but I didn't mark them, so in general, you can look for some new humans, new sea fauna , dragons, giants, and a devil, plus some new portraits and such as well.

I finally went and recolored the modrons as well, so you can see goldish-versions of those, too.

Anyway, to save space, I am using scripts to hide the 2nd frame of every icon, but I am not sure if all of your browsers will work properly... I am also wondering about presentation (should I show all images of the same monster type together, or icons, small pics, etc., separately?). Let me know what you guys think!

I like it, kind of. I like the art, and the layout in general, but using Chrome, there are some major issues with viewing icons, as in I don't see any except the first frame of the first icon in a section, though some sections I see nothing but I know icons are there because of the "Magical Hand of Linking".
Also, the treant icon shows the first frame and about the left 20% of the second frame.

But, all of the wonderful art more than makes up for this, even if finding it can be a bit difficult at some places.

I'll look in Firefox later, but I haven't been using it, and I don't want to deal with updating it at the moment...'cause I'm lazy.

Great work on all the new art, Uatu. You'll be happy to know that as of last night, your sprites for the giant rat and xvart are now part of the official DC download.

Doh! I have finally figured out why it isn't working in Chrome... so you don't have to update your Firefox, just wait a few more hours until I can go home and fix it Basically, Safari and Firefox seem to have leniently processed my script, while Chrome was more per specifications...

Strange that you have found my sprites - those are some of the graphics that have not made the move to the new site yet (not sure where to place them, actually)... I thought I did not upload those yet, actually...

Okay, the page is (should be) working now, even for Chrome addicts ...

I actually saved your site for offline perusal and last night tried Firefox (no go - just like Chrome) and then tried IE which ignored the script to hide bits of images and showed everything just fine.

But it being a new day, I am trying again with Chrome and so far the Walls page is not displaying any walls, and the icons are shown, but more than half show more than one frame, but not both complete frames, let's say they're showing about 1.2 frames.

Oh, and I didn't find the sprites on your site, they're from the old site which I of course have backed up to my HD. ;ninjas:

Strange, things are looking fine on Chrome for me now (Windows Chrome, though). Did you try reloading? (It seems to use the old js files until you reload once.) Strange that Firefox didn't work, either - that one always works for me. Did your saving of the site for offline perusal save linked script and css files, too? (I added about 8 bytes or so in each js file only, which fixes it.)

For IE, I put a hack script that just hides parts of the images to sort of work (transparency messes up sometimes, though, because I use the IE chroma filter to hide a specific color, but the green background is often a slightly different color).

I never got the 1.2 frames thing happen for me, though - it was always 1 frame or 2 frames Did you get the icon transparency working there, or no?

I should do a sprite or two sometime again one of these days...

The site works also fine for me if I use Firefox on a Macintosh, but on a Windows Vista PC it did not work, at least yesterday evening. I will check again tonight - perhaps it depends on the Firefox version?

Uh oh... Really, it didn't work on Firefox Vista? (I did view it with Vista IE 7, which worked fine - well, as "fine" as I expect my hack-version for IE to work, I mean.)

How did it appear? (This cross-browser stuff is rather difficult even now, I guess.)
