Light Bulb Killing Sarevok - tactics, not a spoiler?

No doubt this is old hat to vetran players, but for the benefit of fellow newbies ...
If you take the party about one third of the way up the west side of the room (to avoid traps) you can get in position so as to have one of the statues and pedastals on your right.
This means that when you have sent one of your party on to initiate the dialog with Sarevok and then draw him back to the main party, the spells and missiles generated by Angelo & Co (mostly) bounce off the statue/pedastal.
When you kill Sarevok first like this, you are taken to the final scene without having to kill the other enemies.

Yes, once Sarevok is killed the game is over. That's why you should have everyone in the party concentrate on Sarevok.
The "west side creep up" is a good tactic, although I believe there is a Lightning Bolt trap there. But a party should be able to take a LB or three by the time they get this far!

Thanks,
I seem to remember that the pedastal thingy which Sejims' spells bounce off is one of those which fires a trap into the main area - ironic, eh?
My feeble level 6/7 party aren't too good at receiving incoming lightning bolts; I stopped using the wand of lightning because it did as much harm as good! It's OK for the NPCs with the boots of grounding/protection scrolls, but the bolts tend to hit others in the party as well.

Interesting I never tried that.
But I suspect that Tutu changes everything because the tactics used by Sarevok and his party are totally different after the upgrade. They all come at you at once, whereas original BG gives you the chance to take them on one at a time.

Did you see my earlier post where I didn't have to do any fighting?

I did not use TuTu but I completed some of the Sword Coast quests before going back to the endgame of BG 1; I have read posts which suggest that this also changes things so that all enemies come at once.
They did for me too, it's just that when you draw Sarevok back to the main party down the west side of the screen the other enemies coming from the centre find it hard to hit you, so that there is time to kill Sarevok.
I did see a post about using an invisible Imoen to repeat backstab Sarevok, but this didn't work for me because she got killed by the other enemies.
