Well...I'll be honest...my home does hum at a low frequency, quite a bit...but that's not really anything I'm concerned with...I'm helping researchers learn about how diseases work at their basic levels...and I'm always, always, pro-scientists. If the supercomputers necessary to advance technology are not available...I'll do my part.
So, for me, it's worth it. Yes, I pay an extra $35 a month for electricity, but that's my choice...I drive an energy efficient car, and use fluorescent lighting, so, I don't feel bad about "wasting" energy...especially come this winter, when I intend to ensure that every Watt I can devote to computing will be, since they also heat my house.
