Well, I gave it my best, but they were unwilling to change the decision.

They said that in situations like this in the past, the punishment was more severe.

Thanks so much for the support!

May I just say "That is B..B..B...Bull$hit!" When I got fired from my last job (working for DSS), the Director told me that the mistakes I made had her "in more trouble with the county than she has ever been in before". I KNEW that was BS because I could think of two specific incidents off the top of my head where her actions as Directer were fodder for the local newspaper for weeks and half the county was demanding she be fired. Didn't matter in the end, though.

BTW, the reason I made the mistakes I did is because I got ZERO training on a very difficult job. Every time I asked my manager how to do something, her reply was "It's in the manual. Look it up." Yeah, the manual was only a little over 1, 000 pgs. No problem.

Anyway, I'm sorry things didn't go your way, but now you know what you're dealing with. And now is the time to "adjust" your output and productivity to "ensure you don't make any future mistakes".

I concur with Cerek on all counts. It's BS, and "in the past, it's been worse" is the verbal equivalent to that extra sheaf of papers... FUD. Fear, uncertainty, and doubt. I suspect had you asked how *much* worse, you would have gotten more platitudes that implied that you shouldn't ask because it was so horrible.

If I were you (and I'm not, 'cause I'm in a different time zone ), I'd adjust my output to the appropriate levels, follow the book to the letter, and start putting out my feelers for my next job. How long until they decide to screw you over again?

Oh, I will try hard to let my numbers suffer. I'm still doing to damn well right now, but I hope it will go down. It have very little affect on my commission anyway, and that way, it makes it easier for me to get the trip again next year.

I'm still considering the letter to the Framingham managers.

IMHO, at this point continuing the fight will be an all-or-nothing battle. You either have to throw *everyone* else under the bus, or you just give up entirely.

The only thing you might be able to do is to point out the (expected) hypocrisy of how this has been handled, but doing that will now make both your manager and the HR person look bad. And may also brand you as a troublemaker... not that they're really allowed to do that...

I'll have to agree with Bung on this one. Having been fired unfairly (IMHO, of course) on two different occasions, I understand fully the anger and resentment that comes with being wrongfully accused and/or reprimanded. But you stood up for yourself and gave it your best shot. Best just to let it go and move on. You said your commissions weren't hurt that bad and you still had a shot at the trip next year.

In the meantime, adopt a passive form of retaliation. Adjust your sales output as discussed before and keep thorough documentation of everything you do. Just be aware that you have a written reprimand in your personnel file now and conduct yourself accordingly.

Documentation will definitely be your friend. Especially emails clarifying official positions... CYA all the way, baby...

I don't remember saying this. Maybe you're thinking that if they had taken away just the one customers commission, or maybe that entire day? I'm gonna be out about $1700 this month.
