Erm... Guys, Viconia's the one getting Imprisoned. Not any mage. Short of using any spells, remember that Imprisonment requires the Beholder to be in melee range of the the person. Keep Viconia well away from any Beholders.

For the Keep, go to the City Gates, and enter that little gate there.

If a party member is imprisoned, and you cast freedom on them, I believe that you have to speak with them to get them back in your group. So it's kinda like you kicked them out. So if you are romancing Viconia, or Jaheira in someone else's case, couldn't that ruin the romance?

BTW, I think Shield of Archons can only take 2 casts of Imprisonment. I'll have to check it out later

Spell Trap and Shield of the Archons can only deflect 1 to 3 Imprisonments before they're gone. This is also true for Spell Deflection, Spell Turning, the Rod of Absorbtion, and the Book of Infinite Spells (Spell Turning). So they'd be effective against Liches, Mages, or high-level Beholders, but a Demi-Lich will still Imprison your sorry self six times before breakfast.

Shield of the Acorns is a special spell that only Boo knows. It can protect Minsc from being Imprisoned by some Demi-Liches, but not all.

The only true ways to block multiple Imprisonments are SI: Abjuration, and a Berserker's Rage. (NOT a Barbarian's Rage!)

If your sweetie gets Imprisoned, that will automatically destroy your Romance. The same is true if your sweetie gets Petrified.

I guess that explains why Minsc got Imprisoned during his rage, the only other way that I found that protects against multiple Imprisonments is going Slayer, but thats when I didn't have any SI scrolls available.
