Just expressing curiosity regarding the personal habits of my fellow forum members.
In case no one here knows what I'm talking about, imagine a mix of The Sims, Dungeon Keeper and a roguelike, and you might get somewhat close. It has flowing water. And flowing magma. And dragons. And kittens. And if you dont keep the cat population under control, they'll breed exponentially and smother your framerate to death.

Oh, yes, it can be a bit tricky. In the same way that building a jigsaw puzzle with your feet can be a bit tricky. The guy who designed the game used to be a mathematician.
It gets a bit clearer if you download a graphics pack, but the controls are still quite complicated. And some of the gameplay mechanics, like the third dimention or fluid dynamics or making steel, take some getting used to and checking the wiki for answers.

I'm getting pretty good at fortress mode, but I think the game becomes annoying when you start having too many dwarves. The game need more automation.
And damn these rocks. The whole countryside outside my cave is a huge pile of rocks. Tried the adventure mode. In towns it's extremely laggy for some reason. The guys in my starting town told me to go see the head priest if I wanted a quest, but he just told me to be faithful. I walked down to the next town and was given a quest to kill a dragon. Yeah right... I couldn't figure out where to find anyone else to recruit so I just wandered aimlessly. I was ambushed by a zombie scorpion or something and killed it in one hit. Kept wandering and stumbled on four wolves which killed me.

I usually dump the extra stone into magma. When magma is available, that is. Some more automation would be very nice, yes. According to the developement notes, it's coming eventually.
And finding something to do in adventure mode is really difficult. If you make an elf, you won't even be assaulted by random animals. I hope it'll be better once bandits and stuff are added.
