I've had a look at the Dragon age site. Would like to play it, but my computer is I guess nearly 5 years old, will it be able to play it?

No. Try the BG and IWD stuff firstly. I am a little envious, since you have all these experiences still before you. Then, when you've played them all you can think about upgrading your system.

Yeah, I don't think your comp can handle it Unless you've gone through some upgrading. Even then it'd probably not be a nice gaming experience. but like Spiritwarriror (another spirits? ) said BG series and IWD are great. And they run real well on old comps, because they're really light games (resource wise).

It's a medieval D&D fantasy in which you quest to defeat a great evil, but you know this, eh? But to answer your question, IWD is set approx. 100 years prior to the BG series in the far north of Faerun. The game is linear, but a fun linear. You can create up to 6 party members to quest with. The view is isometric. The game also has a good expansion, the Heart of Winter, which I believe is free. Visit the IWD section of this very website for more info.

Some other party based games:
Goldbox AD&D games (There's lots of them!)
Lands of Lore (Features the voice of Patrick Stewart - way before Oblivion!)
Eye of the Beholder 1&2 (Classic dungeon crawls)
Wizardry 6 or 7? (Since you like Wiz 8, the previous games should be up your alley too)
Any of the Infinity engine games (BG 1+2, IWD 1+2, Torment.)
Ultima's 4-8 (A must play really)
Temple of Elemental Evil (Great turn based combat like Wiz8 yet quite short.)
Stonekeep (A first person classic RPG from Interplay, which was a bit of a sleeper hit. I finished it twice, I enjoyed it so much the first time.)

Baldurs Gate series > Icewind Dale series.

But seriously, get World of Warcraft. You'll never need another game again.

Wow I can't ever recall anyone mentioning StoneKeep. That is perhaps one of my most favorite games.

Noooo don't get WoW, it'll turn out to be the most expensive game you ever bought and you'll never enjoy the satisfaction of beating a game. AHhhh a big timesink if I ever knew one. Do yourself a favour and stay clear of these things~ lol ; And Lavindathar is right - you'll never need another game- because you'll never finish (an unfinishable game). Plus you'll be too broke to buy anything else. Haha

Staaay cleaaarrr
