i reinstalled my bg2 tob game after crashing after i intstalled MODs (damn they are not compatible with each other... dont trust the wrapping). So i've decided to abandon my MOD craze and just play the game as it is but... in my horror, the game is keep on asking me for disc 2 which i already have it in my cd rom.
is there any technical fix with this? or i have to throw my bg2 and tob in the garbage can and play mario brothers instead.

i've tried to reinstall my game for a dozen times (you guess how furius i am now.. cursing cursing them .. my preciouss) and it didn't make sense at all.

...try cleaning your CD-ROM drive? :/

Or you could try burning the contents of CD2 onto a blank CD and seeing if that will work, or do a full install instead of a recommended. Just make sure you have the room on your hard drive first.

Recommended install list

--the game (of course)
--the expansion (if you have it)
--the corresponding patch from Interplay
--the corresponding Baldurdash fixpack
--all mods that are NOT from Forgotten Wars or weidu.org (like Nalia)
--Ascension (only if you have ToB, but DON'T install non-FW or non-WeiDU mods with this, because the game can and WILL screw up)
--FW mods (Dungeon-Be-Gone, Kelsey, Tashia, Goo, etc.)
--WeiDU mods (Solaufein, Tactics, Item Upgrade, Ease-of-Use)

i can't install my game if my cd rom is dirty right? well i did installed it.

burning takes hours and hours and hours.

will baldurash correct tihs problem?

No, Baldurdash doesn't fix installation problems. I've had it happen to me before, for some reason it was asking for disk 5 [img]graemlins/uhoh1.gif[/img]

Don't ask how I fixed it, it might be an anti-virus program blocking the installation.

Have you done a FULL install ? Then you should be able to play with the TOB cd in the drive.

this is not about the installation process.

i installed the game already, set the patches, but not the MODs. clicked the skull, clicked play, they goes the producers logos. two pictures... one soa.. one bg2. clicked tob (testing) it works, clicked soa.... boom!@ there goes the problem... asking for cd2. my cd rom is clean (i clean it twice a week) so no question with that. any idea?

I understand that you've installed the game [img]smile.gif[/img]

With a FULL install, all the files from CD2 would be copied to your hard drive so it shouldn't ask for CD2 when you try and run the game.

The opening movie lives on the second CD. If you haven't done a full install of SoA with ToB, the game will ask you to put CD2 in the drive so it can play the movie. See if you can transfer the contents of CD2 manually from the disk to your hard drive, and see if the transfer "hangs" at the movie file.

what movie? you mean the logos?

No. The movie that talks about how they came while you were sleeping and captured you, and the end of the movie shows Irenicus. The movie starts up each time you open SoA.
