new to BG 2

okay i have just started baldurs gate 2 and imported my main character to Bg 2. Firstly were has all my gear I collected? He cant of just sold it that took me lot of hard work to get it.

Also am missing a key. the picture on the floor is a head of a cheater of something.

for balance reasons(or something), all your gear from bg1 is gone. this is actually told to the pc by imoen, if you ask her. you can find some basic gear in the room north-west of the starting cell. on the second question, if i understood correctly, your missing the key to Jaheira's cell, right? just look around, its very close to the starting location.

edit: if thats not the key you're looking for, please say so, so i can correct myself.

What fall? What picture? Where exactly are you?

And, please, do try to write gramatically correct sentences. It is just a matter of respect: you can surely part a few minutes of your life for concocting a sentence for people who are there to help you.

He's talkin' about the wands keys...i think, since they have the pictures on the floor...one is in the otyugh (?), one is on a table in the memphit portal room (this might be the on e you're talking about...animal summoning), one is in irenicus's bedroom and yadda yadda yadda...straight up

If you had the golden pantaloons on your character when you imported him into the game, they are not actually on you, but they are very near where you begin. BUt if you did nto have it on you when you imported, then "bye bye pantaloons"

Oh yes, he certainly could have sold it, but it's more likely that he wasn't even interested in your puny +2 weapons, and just gave it to his henchmen in lieu of payment. Try watching the intro movie again: "They came as you rested, shadows blurring the lines between consciousness and dream....there is no malice or hatred, no mention of an old score, only quick capture, and the promise of grim deeds to come." Yep, all your gear was stripped from you, but don't worry, you'll meet up with quite a lot of it once again in your travels. Psychopath-boy gives it to his goons, and the goons either keep it (and you kill them and get it back), or they sell it to a store (and you visit the store and get it back), or to somebody else (and you kill them and get it back).

Watch my intuitive train of thought: "cheater" = "cheetah" = tiger = picture corresponding to the Wand of Monster Summoning. There are a total of 6 Wand Keys, and they're all inside the dungeon. Check all the containers and corpses you can find, including the Otyugh. The only other keys in there are the key to Jaheira's cell (it vanished after you used it), and the Portal Key (which is the one that you can't throw away).

Yeah, portal key gets stuck to your character and you cannot remove it until you are done with the dungeon.
