Default My Website

It appears yet another free host has reached the end of it's lifespan. C'est la vie.

I hope to have a new, non-free site up soon. Should be in a month or so...

If anybody wants anything I had posted on the site, let me know and I'll see what I can do.

In the mean time, I may throw up an art page or two on another free host- just because.

Really? What happened? Paying for a site is not something I want to do, as there are lots of free sites available...

There are lots of free sites, I'm just getting tired of re-uploading everything every six to ten months.

As far as I can tell Hyperphp was bought by the same folks who bought the last site I had. Maybe it's me they're following around?

My wife has wanted her own site for a while so she can maintain a blog and gallery (to showcase her web design work). The timing is because we are about to buy a domain name as a birthday gift, we just don't the name yet, as our niece/nephew is still a week or so away. It's a fair amount cheaper to buy two (or more) at once, so we thought, why not?

Hmm... Yeah, I think it IS you they are following around! (Coincidence? Nah...)

Well - if you are going to buy a domain anyway - I guess it would be nice to have your own site for once. (A week or two is not too long to wait!)

I have been pretty happy with my xthost site, so far - better than Geocities (my other free host) and they haven't kicked me out yet!

I like xthost as well. I was planning on putting some more stuff over there anyways...

I have a geocities page, too. I don't think I'm using it for anything other than rerouting to wherever my free site has been.

Good things about Geocities:

1. Really fast loading time
2. Your page will never, ever be deleted (almost)

Bad things about Geocities:

1. Only 15 MB
2. Crappy ads

On the other hand, if you can manage a page made of XML only, they can't get ads on that! Wahoo!

Those damn ads- they're what drove me away. It's not the idea of ads in general, it's the invasive way they place them.

Google has a beta hosting program - free with a few text ads. The upside will be that they provide gigs of space. Why offer sites, you ask? That's how they're linking together all of the stuff a person creates in Google docs and in the soon to be operational photo-hosting online software. This site has promise - once it gets out of beta.
