It very much depends on which encoder you use as well - some are better than others. If you're basing your comparison on RealPlayers 64K stuff, you'd better rethink.

Yeah wow. I'll stand up to an mp3 vs wav blind test any day, but 320k, I haven't heard that. I can ear the diff between wav, 192k (the best apple offers after lossless) I struggle with wav v lossless which is why I like it. 64k, 128k, no issue. Rotten... I'd like to hear 320k. Who/what gives that codec?

Any of you Creative users ever tried the Creative Zen Plus? I'm new to the whole thing and some PC magazine or other recommended it.

Yeah, LAME is the best.

Also, stay away from VBR - I don't like the way it distorts.
