I used to look in CompUsa but they've had such a poor selection of software lately that I tend to do my windowshopping on Amazon, making a wishlist for sometime when I can afford things or they go into the bargain bins.

I can't shop anywhere here because it's impossible to find English versions of the game, and I don't like translations. So am forced to do my shopping at amazon or ebay.

Yet these jackasses come into computers (where I coincidentally do all my stocking mostly), stand around for about a minute watching the lone computer guy on shift because we can't hire anymore, then come and bitch at me first because a. They've been standing for "half an hour" waiting for some service and b. When I offer to try and help they turn me away because I'm not in that department and just walk away with a huff. When you guys go in to whine about stuff, try to be at least respectful of the associates. From some of your comments here, I can see that some of you are of the type that treat them like dirt for following company policy. Don't argue for the sake of arguing, we aren't going to bend for your benefit.

And that attitude, sir, is why your company sucks ass and I won't buy from them. Nice to know the "don't give a shit" attitude that management has has been able to trickle down to you guys.

Originally my beef was simply a retarded return policy. Now you've simply added fuel to the fire. /salute
I do "give a shit"... if you read correctly, you'd see I offer to help the people. That's not even in my job description... I'm merchandising, not customer service.

Contrary to popular belief, I like my job. It's you asswads that make it unpleasant. The reciept policy is quite universal to any store. This isn't anything new either. Live with it or don't come to my store and make my day miserable.

The point of the reciept policy is to prevent theft. Anyone could have just walked in, grabbed the product off the shelf and walked up to customer service with it pleading your case. So do you see why these asswads wouldn't take it now?
Um... no. If you have ever been to a BB, you'd know that merchandise gets tagged at the door on the way in. I'm not surprised a BB employee doesn't know the procedure, though -- such incompetence is a running theme it seems.

At any other retail store -- if you don't have a receipt you can still return the merchandise, but you can only get store credit, not cash. Which is what we wanted.

So, I have to go do RL things now, nice confirming how much you guys suck -- thanks.
Oh so I'm incompetant now? Thanks for the compliment. I'll have you know, I just returned something a few weeks ago at a Best Buy (not the one I work at), and I managed to get it returned without it tagged.

I have never been able to return anything, for store credit, exchange, complete return... nothing without a reciept.

Where I come from (Penang, Malaysia), you'd be lucky to exchange anything with a receipt. If its a faulty product, you'd be able to replace it with a receipt, but exchange a birthday present? Very few shops do that.

So you guys outraged over not being able to exchange something without a receipt is hilarious.

I am constantly being amazed since coming to Canada

I'm a good girl and keep all my receipts for a time until I know all is well with the product I purchased. I'm like the Girlscouts, I'm prepared!

Oh, and here is another online site that sells PC games, it's where I buy them myself. I just love the company, they have done me well over the years, and sometimes even give me a game as a free gift. They also get UK versions of games. I came across this place years ago when I was searching for the UK version of Sacred. I just didn't like the fact that the US version took out the blood, and took out the colorful language LOL. All the stores only sold the US version, so GoGamer.com turned into the place for me to get UK versions of games here in the US. I'm also thinking about now getting a Saitek keyboard, my Logitech one is just too big.

Nice site, good price on NWN's 2 as well. I might have to order it from there, in case it really bites...
