I did not realize that this would turn into such a spirited discussion! ( I would hate to see if I asked if Linux was better that mac / windows HA HA I would hate to put out those flames). Thanks for all the information / comments. I think I'll try using both for while just to see the difference ( I just noticed on google news that there is some big security flaw on the new IE7 release).
Can you transfer your favorites / bookmarks from IE to Firefox?

Yes, the first time you open Firefox, it will ask if you want to, or you can import them at another time through the bookmark manager. (Bookmarks > Manage Bookmarks, File > Import)

Can you copy them to firefox instea of importing them. I would hate to have to copy them back and forth if I decide to use both of them.

The import function does a copy of them.
