As pointed out by Marty4, I was getting results favoring either side of this argument depending on the forum I posted the question in. This will provide a more accurate poll. Of course, feel free to respond as you would have in one of the original posts of mine.

So, which game do you prefer, IWD1 or IWD2? If you feel like responding, tell us why!

IWD2 roxxored

Of course, I think IWD1 will win from what I've gathered of other people's preferences.

The original, mostly for pure nostalgia and its atmosphere alone but also because I felt that the second game after a brilliantly immersive prelude, lost alot of its depth and appeal as early as the second chapter. It was also relief to be done with it, to be honest as I became quite weary of it.

The original can also be made a much more epic journey with the addition of Heart of Winter and Trials of the Luremaster, so its grander scope of vision gives its world more immediacy.

Perhaps I should try IWD2 again sometime, but my heart will definitely feel much more fonder about the original.

IWD 1. The difficulty of the enemies in IDW 2 seemed to jump up and down, but perhaps that's just because I played with a small party.

IWD1 just the atmosphere, environment and music alone. At times II was a little annoying.
