It's not a problem my friend. I'm in London, we have some fantastic (and very old) bookstores, I'm sure we can find what you want....just let me know.

When I replied last night, I didn't read all of this and I have some time while my kids are sleeping and read this. Charlie- You are a very strong person to be able to quit and regain your life. There many ppl who are unable to let go of their drugs and let it rule their lives. It is good that you are strong enough to do that. Take care of yourself and I wish you the best out of life.

If I can kill Jarlaxle then it is not the Real Jarlaxle from the novels. He should as hard to kill than Drizzt. Does anyone know if we can meet Artemis Entreri in the game? He is the only one that did not came out from R.A novels for that game. We have Drizzt & friends, Jarlaxle, Cadderly, and The wizard Harpel take back Drizzt stuffs when I killed him. Would be great to fight vs Errtu no?

Hey LadyWendy's cool. I don't get called by my real name much here at home as I have mentioned! I like your name Claude, is it short for Claudette? BTW, is it true that in France you only have to work 4 days a week? I myself took today off from work so I could take my car to the shop. It's getting up there in the mileage now. Good day to take off though, as it is a dreary raining day and it looks like it will continue throughout the weekend. I am soo looking forward to Spring!

Hi LadyWendy,
please please NEVER call me Claudette !!! (Smile !)
When I was a child there was that stupid French singer Claude François with a bunch of girls in the background giggling, and everyone would call me Claudette ... I HATED this guy !
No, no, no, we don't usually work 4 days a week (we can ask for a partial time though, 4 days or 3 days). And I am buried in the snow right now and would like a bit of spring too !

Ooops! Sorry sorry sorry! Didn't mean to bring back any childhood horrors! I was picked on endlessly as a child because I was smaller than everyone else. Kids will use anything they can think up to get to you, so I understand. Claude it is, and only Claude! I thought the 4 day a week thing sounded too good to be true. My husband brought the subject up the other day by saying "did you know in France they only have to work 4 days a week"? Don't know where he heard that from. Boy this thread is growing into a monster! Soon somebody's going to have to continue it on another post. I'm still waiting for Bahamut, his statement he snuck in his paragraph above was very disturbing.

There was a film I saw once, might have been a comedy or something, and this black guy was talking to someone depressed about what a strange thing it was that some humans loose the will to continue existing. He said (in jive accent):
"You never see an eagle flapping along in air suddenly say to himself "Man, it's such a drag being an eagle, I've had enough" and just stop flapping so he fall downs till he hits the earth.....you never see that."

To me finding the joy in the struggle rather than just the success is important. How many of us would play Baldurs Gate without A CHALLENGE? How many would go see a movie where no one has any problems concerns or challenges? It seems the negatives in this life give the positives their value, their worth. Food tastes better when we are hungry, sleep's precious when we're tired, life is precious because it ends, peace and serenity are so desirable because there is so much conflict - both internal and external.

The struggle defines us, gives us depth and strength of character and lets us connect with each other on a deeper, stronger level. Which to me is close to what it's all about. Connection with each other is so vital, so intrinsic to our most basic need and the source of so much joy, and yet so much sorrow when it is destroyed or denied.

I look at myself holding a glass of water and contemplate the billions of signals being sent to move my hand. I reflect on the sensations of tasting the liquid as I drink it and reflect further on my self awareness and remind myself that it is all a miracle, and all a bonus. I was born in this world without even the ability to feed myself, and did nothing to 'deserve' or 'earn' the gift this life is.

My hopes, plans and dreams my go unrealised, but relative to the many everyday miraculous wonders I can experience - and yet mostly ignore because of their abundance - these setbacks are so small, so few.

It is CHOOSING to view this perspective, and choosing to thank the creator for it all - constantly - that has kept me putting one foot in front of the other during my blackest times.

Yorick, you have a great philosophy! Life indeed is a precious and wondrous thing. Reminds me of a CTD song, "How does a duck know what direction south is...."

Laddyzekke - Read most, if not all of Stephen King's books and the Bachman (sp?) stuff. I never heard of Robert Macamannon. If he is better than King, he is worth looking into. I'll look for the book over the weekend. Thanks.

This is the post of many replies.....

Hey Charlie, I tried finding the post of ladyzekkes you referred to but couldn't find it. What was it? It's got me 'as curious as a magpie' (to quote Moiraines translated French expression)

Ladyzekke, I don't think I ever thanked you for the compliment you slipped in in the music thread. Don't think it went unnoticed! Cheers.

Moiraine, I think you are wonderfully eloquent. Forgetting that it's your second language and all, there's a humanness to your posts that conveys much.

Asphyxiate, I used to read your posts months ago when I could only read the board and not reply (don't ask - long and frustrating story). I thought you'd suffocated or something. How goes your programming? You mentioned Suffixiate, but what about Prefixiate?

Drake/bocaj/Jacob, Drake is an interesting change - makes you sound more human somehow.... like Francis Drake. Never did know what bocaj was till you explained it.

As for you Mr.Memnoch... interesting you didn't choose 'Screwtape', 'Wormwood' or 'Mephisto' (I know you hated 'Satan' and 'Lucifer'.)
