Wouldn't the sudden increase in gravity kill everything, rip stones apart and flatten mountains? It could be fun to watch though. Trees splitting under their own weight, all buildings in the world simultaneously collapsing, mountains ripping apart and the moon probably falling. Pretty nasty for everyone not somehow protected from it.

In that case gravoty would decrease by the square of the increase in radius.

Wait, if you increase the size of the planet but not the mass wouldn't that turn us into an extremely thin gas planet?

Mine included being immortal,pretty much.

And yes, increasing the size without the mass by that large a scale would f**k us up.

As would increasing the size and the mass.

I'd ask out the girl I like . For some reason I never seem able to get up the guts. I've never been very good about relationships. [/QB]
Likewise.

All who wish for immortality, don't forget the part about being able to end your immortality at any time. Immortality can really suck.

One way to create a new larger earth without destroying all would be creating a flat world, make gravity a property of the universe itself rather than of matter, and then make all the planets and stars and stuff circle the pancake earth rather than the other way round. Then we attach a dynamo to the corpse of Galileo Galiei and create infinite amounts of energy as he spins in his grave.

I'm not sure, but I think immortality would bite. Probably with all capital letters. If I could do anything at all, I'd become a famous musician, so that I wouldn't have to ask out the girl of my dreams, she'd be asking me...
