You gotta start somewhere

If you're extremely tech savvy, then build your own. If not, buy Alienware. Having 24/7 tech support is nice with cutting edge, brand new hardware when you don't know much about computer hardware.

I bought one in 2002, and never had one problem with the system (except the Geforce 4ti card, and the sent me a new one before I even sent them the dead card--and provided a shipping waybill too)

GOOD service.. since then, I upgraded it. The case is VERY nice and the inside is probably the best clean kept (tied up cords and such) I've seen. I have the older case--much like the antec one, which is awesome too. 7 fans.

I'm sorry but I would have to disagree with that. Building your own PC will also give you the prestige; infact moreso if you take pride in what you're doing.

Aragorn - although that looks good, I fail yo see the point in it. I mean, if you are needing that much power, you will also know that a laptop with an AMD FX55 will have 0 (zero, ZERO) battery life. A couple of hours max. What will you use this for? You're better getting a desktop at half the cost.

I've only used regular systems with a tower....and have enjoyed them immensely. I think you'd be rather pleased with it.

Alienware is not the best gaming PC. Falcon NW is. But Falcon is a bit more pricey. Do yourself a favor and build your system using www.newegg.com
You will save a bundle and have a better gaming system for the same price that an Alienware PC would cost you.
If you want a top notch PC though, and dont want to put it together go with Falcon NW. They beat Alienware 2 years in a row in the gaming rig competition.

Hope that helps!
