It's not HAVING to ship them out, it's the players themselves that want to leave. Clubs from countries like Spain and Italy pay much higher salaries, so they prefer playing there naturally. They can make a million a year with their club in Holland, but they can make 4,5,6 or even more per year abroad. It's not that our clubs don't have that kind of money, they simply don't pay salaries that insane high. The Spanish and Italians spent money they don't even have, and most owe a truckload of money to the bank. That's impossible overhere, if a club has a debt of more than, let's say, 10 million €, it will go bankrupt if a solution is not found instantly. Overhere it's like "no money=no right of existance"

And so every above average player from here seeks his fortune abroad. that's why you find Dutch players i never even heard of in the German, English, Spanish, and Italian leagues, and our coaches are employed in all the corners of the world.

Looks like they hit the jackpot once again with these 4 players, because already their marketvalue has gone up multiple times.
Ruud!

So Italian Clubs have problems like the Spanish ones? I know Real Madrid is dead broke and yet they still sign good players with truckloads of money. This is what I do not get really... PSV I'd reckon can beat them and their payroll is what, half of Real's? Hehehe Sorry don't know money talks with this.

Yeah, clubs like AS Roma, Lazio Roma, Juventus, and Inter are all in huge debt. They are kept alive systematically with, i suspect, taxpayers money among other funds. Fiorentina went bankrupt a few years ago, all due lousy management, and i think more will follow in the future. Football is business, and any business that doesn't generate money, but only costs, has no long and healthy future ahead of em. If those clubs ever want to be healthy again, they need to let go of all the foreign superstars with all their ridiculous salaries, and start training their own young talents again. In the long run, their national team will benefit from it, now there's hardly any chance for young Italian players to make it to the top, unless they're exceptional talented players. Same goes for Spain, which is probably an even better example. Their league is widely cosidered as the strongest competition in Europe, but their national team never accomplishes any noteworthy feats. I'm amazed that doesn't make them realize they're doing something very wrong overthere.

Hey Manchester United is a very rich ballclub. LOL

I hate so see Borussia Dortmund go down because of lousy management also. I mean they were one of the elite and now they are well down there...

And yet they are still discussing the possibility of contracting expensive new players for coming season. Van Bommel from PSV is one the players who's high on their wishlist, and they might get him for free since his contracts ends at the end of this season, but his salary will probably force them to sell two or three players on their current roster.

They may be rich. But the CEO said if the manager want to recruit new players. He will need to sell some players to raise cash to buy new players. Is that a hint of something something?
