This quote accurately describes what I feel about this thread.

You guys make me sick to my stomach, every day this feeling of 'let's kill the cirminals' gets worse. You are truely the prophecies coming true.

He does have a point - the same sentiments were expressed in the cat thread. It seems to be a general format to any thread about some cruel/violent/evil event - the original action is condemned widely for being so vicious and then everybody advocates doing equally cruel things to the perpertrator. It's like violence and mutilation are terrible acts, except when its done in revenge...

That is because the original victim is considered innocent and undeserving of the violence done to them. The perpertrator - on the other hand - is perceived as deserving to receive the same violent treatment they committed against the innocent victim. Since they committed an act of violence against an innocent person, it is considered to be only fair that they receive the same treatment themselves - so they can experience the consequences of their own actions firsthand.

Its just so primitive though! I'm not against punishing him, and severly at that. Give him hard labour or send him to that tough prison mentioned in the other thread. But chopping off the hand that made the burger, or feeding the burger to him - come on! Those are the acts of savages...

I hold that no one deserves violent treatment. (The problem with that statement is defining violent, but clearly execution is over the line, no?)
