Q1 I know that on the manual it says that AC "does not" absorb damage. But how come sometimes when I hit an emeny with an lower AC(around 0 and less), I deal way less damage than I do to an enemy with a higher AC(around 1 and higher)??? Q2 Another question is when choosing an Assasin, it says that he only gets 15% to distrubute among his abilities each level, how much ability points do ordinary thiefs get each level? And if a theif get 100 each level the assasin only get 15?
Q3 If u guys were to vote which weapon is the cheasist in SOA, which weapon would u pick? I'd go Staff of the Magi followed by Cfury, whats ur opinion?

1. Enemies that have a high AC but take less damage usually have resistances to weapons. If you attack with a sword and it does less damage (say 10 damage for example), that means the enemy has slashing resistance.
2. The regular thief gets 25 points to distribute. 3. I don't really think any weapon (or anything for that matter) is "cheesy" but if I had to pick one, I'd have to say the secret game weapon killsw01. [ 04-01-2003, 05:18 AM: Message edited by: Gangrell ] |

1. This could just be coincidence. There is no relationship between AC and damage dealt.
2. Thieves usually get 25% each level, if memory serves. 3. Staff of the Magi, of course. Nothing else comes near. Other cheesy weapons include Lilacor (someone's casting confusion! quick, equip Lilacor!) Ilbartha (when your fighters need to avoid being hit for a few more seconds) and Daystar (undead getting ya down? cast a level 7 spell guaranteed to kill them once per day!) Most items with special abilities can be used for some sort of cheese, though. The problem is deciding whether to use it or not.

1) AC only affects your odds of being hit, it has no effect on damage recieved per hit. There is no such thing as a "perfect" AC, since Critical Hits will always get through, while 100+% Physical Resistances will make you pretty much invulnerable.
2) Straight Thief: 25 points per level Swashbuckler: 25 Bounty Hunter: 20 Assassin: 15 Multiclassed Thief: 25 points per Thief level 3) Staff of the Magi, if you abuse the Invisibility and Spell Trap Celestial Fury Flail of Ages
