Usually you have to wait for a round for it to kick in. You can still move while Turning Undead, so spend that time to attract Undead and herd them into one big happy crowd before they all explode/get charmed/get scared from the chanting.

BTW, in at least one undead encounter, it is not be a bad idea to have your cleric Find Traps spell running, too, since you probably don't have anything better to do with second level spells anyway. But then again, any point man should be detecting traps, or at least able to survive triggering one...

I just have my thief sneak around detecting, its much easier. Plus, the cleric may be able to detect the trap, but can it detrap it?

Yes, that is fine, but let me know what happens when your thief tries to disarm the trap that is next to the four vampires.

I just meant that if you are trying to walk your cleric forward and blow things up, you should have some way of knowing whether there is a trap between you and the next bad guy, so you can step around it. Personally, I hate fighting on their turf -- I would rather choose the location of my battle if at all possible, so I have not actually done Sanctuary and Turning. Actually I thought that would have terminated the Sanctuary, so I never even tried it. Live and learn.

Well thats when you lure the vampires towards you, kill them and disarm it. But when you were referring to to the clerics' spell, I didn't know you meant during battle. yeah, or you just conjure monsters to see if there are any traps, that works as well.
