i prefer max osx because of its stability and productivity, while on the other hand windows is frequently crashing and makes life much harder than making it easier.

See, that is the reason that I made my mistake. People who claim that Windows crashes all the time just because they heard it from some guy online. When my Power Supply got zapped with a surge, I automatically thought it was Windows that was causing my system to act funny and crash. I reinstalled Windows only to find the problem still happening. The truth is that I have never had a major problem with Windows that was the fault of the OS itself.

Other than the door left open for M$ i have had no major problems with XP i like it very much. I err... dislikeMac OS, one example, i especially hate how they changed the taskbar (or dock) just enough so it seems slightly different from windows, the taskbar is in my opinion the best as it is in windows (actually knoppix linux has a pretty good although similar version), although the dock is much better than the way os 9 handled windows (as in boxes). Anyway that and many other more subtle things i really don't like, ahh simply i just wouldn't get a mac, or if i did it would have linux on it. [ 01-09-2004, 07:59 AM: Message edited by: Intrepid ] |

well, windows might not be bad for u guys but personally, i have so much trouble windows XP pro. I have never ever been able to install a program w/o encountering a problem... Since Mac osx is based on unix, it is much more stable and doesnt crash as much either.

Windows XP is not unstable. It has not crashed a single time since I got it about 8 months ago. It looks good (with a few tweaks ) and is very easy too use (though a little over user-friendly). But I've always been comfortable with PC's and Windows rather than Mac's. Plus Apple are not as good as they're made to be...

Well, I use both so I have no clue which is better. I'd have to say, though, that Mac OSX is way more user friendly than XP. Thats the lone advantage.
