If the creature's Max.HP is below d8 HP, it dies ... no matter what his current HP is. ( So anything under 64 HP dies )

If you bring a creature with 120 HP down to 1 HP and then cast deathspell .. nothing happens, ( except offcourse if he was non-gated in ).

P.s. Another Mac Bug perhaps ?
Umm, isnt it d6? and hp doesnt matter, because a creature can roll a d20 for hp and still be under d6 for levels. (d6xd20 = 120 hp = can still be killed with a death spell.)

Umber Hulks come to mind. In my encounters with them, they seem to have more than 64 hp and are still killed with a death spell.

The way Death Spell works is explained best by daan. A little correction though. Not all monsters use 1d8 for their HitDices, and summons are all auto-kills irregardless of the number of their HitDices or immunities.

Why not solo a Jester? Heck, it was the first Bard to successfully solo SoA-ToB.

Im not trying to be rude but... how do you know this ? I've seen you make comments like this before about what kit of each class was the first to 'ever' be soloed... do you just mean by people on this forum or what ?

Long ago, I used to frequent the BlackIsle Boards, where the game developers and several hardcore BG2 gamers interacted with each other. I learned a lot of stuff there, stuff that I would otherwise never even heard of, like the incomplete Haer'Dalis NPC Quest to name one.

Back then, soloing was considered a grand achievement, and soloing on insane was like having a badge of honour. To put things into perspective, my time there inspired me to solo. This was really, really, way back when I was still a newbie to the game.

In any case, the members loved to tell their tales and how others achieved theirs. Who soloed what, what class soloed first, which class was most popular, etc... ...

Sadly, trolls were not kept in check, and as such, the boards became a hostile place to be in. I tried lurking at first, but I eventually gave up and settled here for good. Pity really, that board really had a lot of good information.
