What's up with etriological elven questiosns this week? First we have questiosn about elven pubes and now we're attacking their accents? I've seen many an elf without a scottish accent though...

if anything they should have Nordic/Scandinavian accents. Tolkiens' (and subsequently D&D's) elves and dwarves are derived from Norse legend.

To someone from Scotland, the elves don't sound Scottish in the slightest.
Dwarves sound like a Scotty from Star Trek version of Scottish. "The engines canna cope captain", ie Irish mixed up with some kind of American accent. I can guarantee you the voice actors were not Scottish!.
