Ow, that looks so painful, I'm glad that has never happened to me... I did manage to chip a tooth on a 45 lb plate before...

That happened to me once...well, almost.

I was bench pressing at my rowing club by myself (a BIG no no), since I had to leave early I was doing it by myself. So after doing the rest of the weight circuit I start doing the bench press.

I'm doing it confidently and well within my comfort zone, and by the time I got to my fifth set of reps, I decided to do 1 more lift at the end (since it was my last exercise). Massive mistake.

The second I started to bring it down one last time, my arms gave way and brought the bar down on my throat...I don't know how but I guess I got a burst of adrenaline or something and I was able to lift the bar up slightly (in a really awkaward position), I locked my arms, and started shouting for help.

Thankfully one of my friend's happened to be passing by at the time and he helped lift the bar.

Could have quite easily been killed there, I never do ANY weight exercise by myself anymore.

I don't think I'd do weights at all after that... youch!

The link didn't work for me (Don't have whatever it needed), but from the comments I think I have a good idea of what it was.

Silly masochist, you bench-press with dumbells so this kind of stuff doesn't happen

Really great work by the assistants as well.
