Thief Ability - Set snare

Hi there.
I got a thief as my main char and i was wondering how i can boost my set snares ability. Currently its on 5 and i cant seem to spend any abilitypoints at it when i level up and it doesnt rise on lvl up either[level 21 or so now].
Is there a way to boost it without items like certain rings etc?

Its really frustrating setting 50 snares and only succeed on one of them

Normally you spend skill points anytime you level up.So if you haven't spend any as of yet I suggest you start doing so!
An other option is to use the mercykiller ring which gives you +20% to HS MS and Set Snares

Hm.
When i level up i can spend my skillpoints at 4 different stats.
- Pickpocketing
- Move Silently
- Hide in Shadows
- Disarm traps

[not in that order]

I got between 130 and 150 in all of those, but they
dont seem to influence the set snare ability(the one under the star icon, next to 'turn into the slayer').

Have i missed something here?

You can scroll down and spend your points on even more abilities, like Setting traps, detect illusions etc.

heh, i didn`t know how to get set snares for about a month either.

me too,

But it was longer than a month. I never even knew that Move Silently even effected you when you are hidden in shadows. I had to play as a bounty hunter before I actually used the scroll thing and discovered what I was missing out on.
