Globe of essence

Now I'm peeved!
I did everything I was supposed to (as far as I can see), the guards are dead, the Pool is supposed to be cleaned, why will this game not let me beat up the globe!!!??????

So what happens when you try hitting on the globe?

Did you do the Ilmater Ritual and use the stuff in the Pool to clean it up?

Dear Zorander, I think you failed to complete the ritual properly. There is a bug which will allow you to complete the ritual without all the components(i think it's tear drop) and it won't work. Try again.
OR
You have to manually select attack and kill the globe.

I'm still not understanding this at all. The waters around the statues has turned blue, the priest of Ilmater has thanked me, but all that I get when I go the fountain again, is that the water is a sickly shade of green. And the essence globe will not even acknowledge me. Spells do no damage, and striking it makes me flail at the air like a fool.
Any help out there?

Go to the pool and insert the vial. it should turn blue and then try attacking the globe.

Humm... you might hae a bug. maybe you could asks omeone to send you a savegame right after having broken the globe, and then import your characters in that game.

By the way, are you patched?
