BG2 Item Creator

I just had this idea that I should make this character that I've been meaning to make in BG2.

The problem is, his equipment doesn't exist in the BG2 world....so I was wondering how one goes about making new items?

Is there some special application that you have to download to make your own items?

A tool such as Infinity Engine Editor Pro, DLTCEP or NearInfinity is the best bet - I don't recall download links but Google will know.

For tutorials on the various subjects of modding, try the forums at http://www.gibberlings3.net or http://www.pocketplane.net and don't worry about asking questions there!

If you want to be able to send your work to others and have them use it then you should get WeiDU too from http://www.WeiDU.org though looking at the ReadMe for it will likely scare you for a while... Appearances aside, it's pretty simple.

Hmmmm, maybe I should make a Darksun mod....now wouldn't that be sweet-ass....

Uhhhh....

2 +3 Longswords that do 1d4 + char level / 3 fire damage.

+5 elven chain that grants immunity to normal, and magical fire, and 50% resistance to dragonbreath.

+3 Composite long bow that gives arrows shot an additional 1d6 fire damage.

Ring that grants the ability to polymorph into a phoenix 1 / week

+4 bastard sword that does an additional 1d6 lightning damage

+3 medium shield that gives 50% resistance to normal and magical lightning.

+4 elven chainmail that gives 50% resistance to normal and magical lightning, and 50% resistance to lightning breath.

That's my wishlist anyway....

can you say power player? lol just playing but for serious how do those god-like weapons fit YOUR character or how did he or she find them? just wondering....

He inherited them from his father when his father's keep was destroyed by a tribe of Tincallis.

The fire stuff is the family heirloom passed down to the male heir.

The lightning stuff is passed down to the female heir.

I should change the polymorphing into a phoenix to 1/year.

To put this into context, the character that uses the fire stuff is a level 20 ranger / 20 fire elementalist (a class I created that uses fire spells, and has an innate weakness to ice).

The character that uses the lightning stuff is a level 15 ranger / 15 air elementalist (innate weakness to earth).

It's good fun, but meh, I don't have the energy or effort to make this stuff....maybe I'll make a mod with it someday...
