I haven't played WoW, but would probably have to if I were going to figure out a way to do it in DC. The question is, could I come back from the Dark side?

Well, you could search for CocoaSpud and try to bring him back from the dark side... (Hey, that almost sounds like a plotline for a DC game )

I tried already. I still keep a bit of hope as he is still subscribed to the Yahoo list and gets the daily digest from it.

Maybe if we all were writing up a storm over there about how we're close to done and just need a little help... (wishful thinking, as that's already been tried to.)

Thanks, guys. I sat down with the program, played with it, and got it to work.
How do you change the names anyway? Do you just change the .txt files in the folder?
And I'll keep the thing with editing the races in mind, thanks....
Yeah, UA was a dream come true, and it worked great. I -loved- "Heirs of Skull"...er...Keep, was it? It gave birth to alot of cool characters I later went on to play in tabletop campaigns, and still do to this day. And it has been a good 13 years.... Funky Dynamite...Lady Highcrown, my paladin.... UA was good to me...though was still a bit limited to my tastes. You couldn't change the weapons...(I had to take a hex editor go into the program and actually change the names of some of the weapons...), you had to make a fantasy game (I had limited resources at the time). I'm used to working with other game editors where you basically start with a blank state. When you make a character, you make their class, give them custom skills, have them be able to equip anything you want. In that aspect, UA (and DC) is limited, but what I like about DC, is what these editors lack: that distinctive D&D feel. That's why I work with it. While those other editors are good at making console style games, if you want to make a D&D game, DC is your best bet.
I'm still waiting for a full spell list and an actual working Belt of Giant Strength, but that's neither here or there....(I tried making a Belt myself, but it doesn't seem to work, I don't know if it's something I did or if it's the program itself. I have to get in there and fiddle with it....)
Incidentally, I haven't looked, does DC have Staff Slings?

Glad it's working for you.

To change class names/race names, you need to alter the proper .txt file and then import the results through the database menu using the import/export databases option.
The spell that I really want to be able to create is the delayed blas fireball which is, in my opinion one of the strongest spells in FRUA. I'm more looking forward to some special abilities, such as 'may only be hit by +1 magic weapons or better', that type of thing.
You should be able to create the girdle...I have successfully created attribute changing items for a project in the past.

What picture are you trying to put up? If it's an attachment, make sure and hit the upload button before you post your reply. I learned this from experience a couple of weeks ago.

Ok, manikus, -now- I -know- we're going to get along famously. Delayed Blast Fireball is one of my favorites. (Cone of Cold is another.)
Thought the "to hit by +1 or better" stuff was already in place....
I tried again with my girdle. I must be doing something wrong. I couldn't even 'Use' it, and I coded a sound and text statement upon activation...nothing.
I'm talking about my avatar, it won't show up....
