LOL, Saz, I wish that we had twice a week, it gets pretty stinky, what with all of the chicken bones, etc., especially in the summer. It's really Piestrider's job, but he "forgets" and now he is at school, so guess who gets to do it?

Attalus: I know just who you mean!

Well, having no spawned slaves of our own, it's my job to take out the garbage, but I usually do that the night before. No one in their right mind would expect me to be up at the time the garbage men come through! I have just enough time to get dressed and get out the door to work by 8:30.

I was wondering about that myself. Cloudy, dear? You ready to start another one?

Hey Glorfy! Good to see you back!

Saz, the sorting isn't as big a deal once you get a system going! We've had to sort out cans/bottles and paper for several years now in my city. Luckily we can put the cans and glass in one container and paper in a separate one. No sorting the metal and glass from ea/other at least! Still, we have to take the labels and lids off. Those get trashed, the rest gets recycled. Soda cans and bottles are all returnable to grocery stores here. For many years we have had a deposit law in NY and most of New England as well. You pay 5 or 10 cents extra per bottle or can when you purchase them and it's refunded when you turn the bottle or can in a the (or any) store.

So I've got a bag on a stand under the kitchen sink for the recyclable cans/bottles and a small plastic can near the counter for the soda/drink bottles and cans. Paper products, including newspapers go into a paper bag in the basement.

That's exactly what I was telling Lela, Cloudy! I'm going to copy and paste this to her! Thanks!

(Grumbles) No recycling here. In fact, Galadria bought one of those royal blue "We Recycle" trashcans at Offfice Depot, just because it is soooo ugly that no one at our office would steal it. Know what? They haven't, and it's been two years, now.

Apparently, curbside recycling goes into effect for us on November 4, so we have a few weeks to get used to the idea.

Most places in the Metroplex now have curbside recycling. Denton has avoided becoming part of the Metroplex for as long as it could, but it looks like it's going to be dragged into it whether it likes it or not, kicking and screaming.
Gee...I don't know if that's a good idea or not gentlemen.
After all, it's bad enough for Cloudy to actually put her name on this place...but to start new threads 3-4 times a week????

Some people might view that as "arrogant and presumptious"!

Sorry, Amber, I just couldn't resist.

BTW, the flavoring in Vanilla Coke has been "scientifically proven" to actually absorb most of the calories out of the original formula....so Vanilla Coke IS a Diet Coke.
